Abstract:
In a variable displacement pump for a power steering device of a vehicle, the adapter ring is arranged to be easily engaged with the engagement hole at the pump casing, to improve ease of assembly. The relationship of the adapter ring with the engagement hole reduces vibration and noise. Also, the reduction and deformation qualities of the adapter ring are increased
Abstract:
In a swash plate type compressor, a swash plate (22) is fixed to a boss (21) by means of rivets (35). The swash plate is coupled to a plurality of pistons (24) via shoes (25). When a main shaft (16) is rotated to rotate a rotor (18), a rotational motion of the rotor is transmitted to the boss via a hinge mechanism (19) which changes an inclination of the swash plate. Accordingly, the boss is rotated to rotate the swash plate at the inclination to cause the pistons to make reciprocating motions in cylinders (26) via the shoes for performing a compressing operation.
Abstract:
White balance control for a video camera is strongly influenced by remarkably change of brightness level, color of an object and photographing conditions. An automatic white balance control device according to the present invention for a video camera can control white balance by controlling timming of outputing control signals for controlling gains of amplifiers for control white balance and changing signal process of a picture image in accordance with a percentage of white color shared in the picture image.
Abstract:
The process for preparing ceramic powder having a core-shell structure by dissolving a crystalline ceramic powder in water so as to leave a core portion of the ceramic powder while heating; depositing a component of the ceramic powder dissolved in the water on and around surfaces of the core portion thereof as a deposited material from the water by gradually cooling the ceramic powder and the water obtained in the step of dissolving; and firing a mixture of the ceramic powder obtained in the step of depositing with an additive at a high temperature to subject the deposited material and the additive to solid phase reaction to form a shell portion on and around the core portion of the ceramic powder. The process can produce the ceramic powder having a core-shell structure from a crystalline ceramic powder, thereby achieving high electrical and mechanical features when formed into ceramic electronic parts. On the other hand, conventional ceramic electronic parts produced from highly crystalline ceramic powder raise the manufacturing cost because such ceramic powder is low in reactivity so that it requires high firing temperature. Ceramic powder in a core-shell structure produced from low-crystalline ceramic powder results to conventional ceramic electronic parts which are poor in electrical and mechanical characteristics.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for producing optically active halomethyl phenyl carbinols of the formula (1), comprising reducing halomethyl phenyl ketones of the formula (2) using an asymmetric reducing agent obtained from boranes and optically active .alpha.-phenyl-substituted-.beta.-amino alcohols of the formula (3) or optically active .alpha.-non-substituted-.beta.-amino alcohols of the formula (4). The present invention further relates to a process for producing optically active carbinols, comprising reacting a prochiral keytone with an asymmetric reducing agent obtained from optically active .beta.-amino alcohols of the formula (5), a metal boron hydride and Lewis acid or lower dialkyl sulfuric acid. All of the formulas (1) to (5) are the same as shown in the specification.
Abstract:
A white balance control device is provided for use in a video camera or a still video camera in which white balance control signals are controlled so that an object may be photographed without the occurrence of color failure. A user selects the light source to be employed. A microcomputer of the white balance control device detects a difference between integral averaged values for two color difference signals R-Y and B-Y and a reference value. The integral averaged values are to be equalized until this difference is within a predetermined value. The integral averaged values are also to be maintained within a variable region in accordance with the selected light source. Use of the variable region insures that deterioration of the reproduced color does not occur even when there is a difference between a selected light source and an actual color temperature.
Abstract:
A swash plate type refrigerant compressor comprises a compressor housing enclosing therein a crank chamber, a suction chamber and a discharge chamber. A swash plate is tiltably connected to the drive shaft and has two sliding surfaces sides thereof. The swash plate includes a sliding surface which engages a plurality of pairs of shoes. The shoes couple the swash plate to the pistons so that the pistons may be driven in a reciprocating motion within the cylinder bores upon rotation of the swash plate. At least one groove is formed in the sliding contact surfaces between the swash plate and the shoes. The groove captures and retains lubricating oil in the refrigerant in response to the rotation of the swash plate.
Abstract:
A white balance control device is provided for use in a video camera or a still video camera, each having zoom capabilities, in which white balance control signals are controlled so that an object may be photographed without the occurrence of color failure. A recognition level or threshold is set as a function of zoom information. A microcomputer of the white balance control device detects a difference between integral averaged values for two color difference signals R-Y and B-Y and a reference value. Depending on the difference, values of the white balance control signals Rcont and Bcont may be changed when the brightness of an object is changed by more than the recognition level. However, the values are positioned within a variable region and when the values of the white balance control signals Rcont and Bcont become constant, the variable region is renewed.
Abstract:
A measuring arrangement includes forming first and second pairs of light beams each having a low frequency light beam and a high frequency light beam. Both pairs of light beams generate beat signals of the same frequency. The low frequency light beam of either pair and the high frequency of the other pair pass through a predetermined optical path to cause phase changes in the same direction. Beat signals are generated by superposing the first and second beam pair to provide measurement information on the phase changes.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method in which light from source is kept within a transparent moving roadway and a tire tread is pressed onto one surface of the roadway. The ground contact patch of the tire is observed from the opposite side, and the ground contact area and the non-ground contact area of the tire tread is distinguished clearly. The dynamic behaviour of the ground contact patch of the rotating tire roadway can be observed by means of a camera unit. The information obtained can be utilized for tire design to improve tire performance.
