Abstract:
A memory device includes a nonvolatile memory, a medium having instructions for operating the memory device and a processor for executing the instructions. The minimal instructions are instructions for storing, in the nonvolatile memory, original pictures corresponding to source pictures received from a camera, and instructions for producing degraded pictures corresponding to the original pictures. The original pictures are stored either encrypted or clear. The memory device is locked after access of the original pictures by an authorized printer but may be unlocked by the camera from which the original pictures were received. The scope of the invention also includes a corresponding method of digital photography.
Abstract:
A digital appliance, such as a digital camera, an MP3 player or a digital voice recorder, uses a memory card to store data. The appliance and the card use USB interfaces for appliance-card communication. When the appliance is connected to a host computer directly or via a passive USB cable, a switch within the appliance automatically establishes host-card communication for reading and/or writing data. In another embodiment, the switch can also connect the host to the appliance for configuration or operation. In another embodiment, the memory card temporarily stores data to be exchanged between the host and the appliance.
Abstract:
A method, including receiving a three-dimensional (3D) map of at least a part of a body of a user (22) of a computerized system, and receiving a two dimensional (2D) image of the user, the image including an eye (34) of the user. 3D coordinates of a head (32) of the user are extracted from the 3D map and the 2D image, and a direction of a gaze performed by the user is identified based on the 3D coordinates of the head and the image of the eye.
Abstract:
A method executed by a circuit for counting electrons in storage cells in an array of at least two storage cells is provided. The method includes providing a storage array of at least two storage cells, and each of said at least two storage cells containing an unknown amount of electrons. A receiving array of at least two receiving cells is provided, where said at least two receiving cells initially contain no electrons. Then, extracting a layer of said electrons from said storage array of cells and inserting said layer into corresponding locations in said receiving array. The method then repeats said steps of extracting and inserting while at least one of said at least two storage cells is not empty. The method counts, for each said storage cell in said storage array, a productive-extraction amount.
Abstract:
A connector assembly for a modular device that connects to a host device, including a receptacle forming part of a host electronic device, and a connector plug mounted on one side of a modular electronic device, for use with two operational modes of the modular device, including a first connector for engagement with the receptacle in a first operational mode in which the modular device is connected with the host device, and a second connector for engagement with a cable external to the modular device in a second operational mode in which the modular device is not connected with the host device, the second connector being covered by the host device but not engaged therewith when the first connector is engaged with the receptacle, thus enabling the modular device to be used with a host or alternatively removed from the host and connected to a cable for external use.
Abstract:
A digital photo frame, including a memory for storing a plurality of digital photos, and tags associated with the digital photos, where a tag for a digital photo corresponds to an object appearing in the digital photo, a screen for displaying the digital photos, an interface for making connection with a communicator, wherein the communicator includes a storage for storing a contact list of phone numbers for objects, and a controller, coupled with the memory and the interface, for rendering one of the plurality of digital photos on the screen, and for instructing the communicator via the interface (i) to identify the phone number of a selected object, and (ii) to dial the identified phone number, in response to user activation of a tag associated with the rendered digital photo and corresponding to the selected object.
Abstract:
A mobile phone, including a processor operable to perform wireless communication, a housing for the processor, including front and back surfaces, a first display screen coupled with the processor and mounted on the outer side of the front surface, a second display screen coupled with the processor, separate from the first display screen, and a transparent portion on the outer side of the back surface through which the second display screen shows through to the outside of the housing.
Abstract:
A method for synchronized playback of media players, including selecting, by each of a plurality of media players, a multimedia file to be played, monitoring, by each of the plurality of media players, the environment for an external trigger, and upon detection of the external trigger, playing, by each of the plurality of media players, the selected multimedia file.
