    Abstract: Audio waveform data can be received from a plurality of client devices. The audio waveform data for each client device can be generated by sampling at least one portion of an audio stream received by the respective client device. The audio waveform data received from the plurality of client devices can be compared. Based on the comparison, which of the plurality of client devices are located in a same location can be determined. Further, based on the comparison, which of the plurality of client devices located in the same location are to mute their respective input audio transducers can be determined, and an indicator indicating to the client devices to mute their respective input audio transducers can be communicated to the client devices that are determined to mute their respective input audio transducers.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to web page layout and provide a novel and non-obvious system for managing white space in a web page. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for managing white space in a web page includes detecting white space adjacent to a non-rectangular shaped portlet rendered on the web page. The method further includes measuring a non-rectangular shape of the white space and selecting a graphic having a shape congruent with the shape of the white space. The method further includes rendering the graphic that was selected into the white space.

    Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for processing queries in a hybrid database system. A database management system of the hybrid database system obtains an estimated execution time of a query by an online transaction processing engine. The database management system further obtains an estimated execution time of the query by a database accelerator. Furthermore, the database management system determines a wait time (which could be zero) for the database accelerator to process the query. The database management system then determines whether the online transaction processing engine or the database accelerator will process the query using the estimated execution time of the query by the online transaction processing engine, the estimated execution time of the query by the database accelerator and the wait time (which could be zero) for the database accelerator to process the query. In this manner, the processing of queries in hybrid database systems is optimized.

    Abstract: A method for associating an emotional influencer to a post may include determining, by a processor, an emotional baseline for a user and detecting, by the processor, a post by the user on a social medium. The method may also include analyzing the content of the post to determine an emotion of the user based on the content of the post and determining a difference between the emotion of the user associated with the post and the emotional baseline of the user. The method may additionally include determining an emotional influencer of the post in response to the difference between the emotion of the user associated with the post and the emotional baseline of the user exceeding a preset threshold. The method may further include tagging the emotional influencer to the post based on the emotional influencer being related to the post.

    Abstract: An approach is described for creating an audio file sample based upon user preferences. An associated method may include detecting selection of an audio file by a user, wherein the selection of the audio file occurs via a communications network and indexing the audio file to create a plurality of indexed segments based upon audio analysis. The method further may include selecting at least one segment among the plurality of indexed segments based upon a profile of the user and incorporating the at least one selected segment into an audio sample having a designated length. Indexing the audio file to create a plurality of indexed segments based upon audio analysis may include, for each audio characteristic among a plurality of designated audio characteristics, creating from the audio file at least one indexed segment corresponding to the audio characteristic.

Specifically, a way for customizing content having an informational topic provided in a web browsing experience is provided.
