Abstract:
A substrate structure is described, including a starting substrate, crystal piers on the starting substrate, and a mask layer. The mask layer covers an upper portion of the sidewall of each crystal pier, is connected between the crystal piers at its bottom, and is separated from the starting substrate by an empty space between the crystal piers. An epitaxial substrate structure is also described, which can be formed by growing an epitaxial layer over the above substrate structure form the crystal piers. The crystal piers may be broken after the epitaxial layer is grown.
Abstract:
A solid state disk includes a circuit board and a casing. The casing comprises a first cover and a second cover. The circuit board is provided in the first cover. Each side of the first cover is provided with a plurality of first combining portions. Each side of the second cover is provided with a plurality of second combining portions at positions corresponding to those of the first combining portions respectively. The second combining portions are buckled to the first combining portions respectively. Each first combining portion has an extension section extending from the first cover. The extension section of the first combining portion extends to be buckled to the second combining portion. Thus, the first cover and the second cover cannot be detached easily. When the casing is detached, the extension section will get broken, thereby preventing undesired detachment.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are isolated compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which exhibit immunostimulatory or anti-inflammatory effects. The compounds are isolated from the fruiting body of A. camphorata in a solid culture. Also disclosed are methods of stimulating immune responses and/or treating an inflammatory disorder with these compounds and pharmaceutical compositions including the compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for alleviating allergic asthma by using a bitter melon composition. The bitter melon composition comprises at least an effective amount of conjugated linolenic acid (CLN), wherein the bitter melon composition is administered to a subject suffering from allergic asthma to alleviate its symptoms. In the future, the bitter melon composition can be developed to as a health food, so as to prevent asthma, or alleviate the various symptoms of allergic asthma, such as airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), airway inflammation, infiltration of inflammatory cell in lung tissue, or high level of serum IgE.

Abstract:
A flash memory storage apparatus is provided. The flash memory storage apparatus includes a substrate, a control and storage circuit unit, a ground lead, at least a signal lead, and a power lead. The control and storage circuit unit, the power lead, the signal lead, and the ground lead are disposed on the substrate, in which the power lead, the signal lead, and the ground lead respectively electrically connect to the control and storage circuit unit. Moreover, the flash memory storage apparatus further includes an extra ground lead electrically connected to the ground lead or a protrusion on the substrate, such that the ground lead first electrically connects to a host when the flash memory storage apparatus is plugged into the host.
Abstract:
A driving system and method for electroluminescent displays which by connecting the electroluminescent elements that have been lighted up to the electroluminescent elements that are to be lighted up causes charge to be shared among the elements, so as to increase the voltage level at the anodes of the electroluminescent elements which are to be lighted up, thereby reducing the power consumption and increasing the response speed.
Abstract:
A delivery system. The delivery system includes a carrier or an active compound and a glutathione or a glutathione derivative grafted thereon. The invention also provides a compound including a moiety comprising a vitamin E derivative or a phospholipid derivative, a polyethylene glycol (PEG) or a polyethylene glycol derivative bonded thereto, and a glutathione (GSH) or a glutathione derivative bonded to the polyethylene glycol or the polyethylene glycol derivative.
Abstract:
A duplex document feeder defines a feeding path. A charging means, a guiding plate equipped with elastic force and a feeding means are located along the feeding path. A driver means provides drive source to the charging means and the inverting means. The guiding plate blocks up the feeding path while the feeding path is empty. The charging means charges a document into the feeding path. The guiding plate is pressed out of the feeding path by the document conveyed via the charging means. Therefore, the document may be conveyed through the feeding path. While the document is conveyed to the feeding means, the guiding plate returns to block up the feeding path via elastic force thereof.
Abstract:
An emulsion composition includes prostaglandin E1 (PGE1), a phospholipid with a high purity and a non-proton-providing surfactant that improves stability of PGE1. Embodiments of the emulsion composition include an effective amount of PGE1, about 1% to about 30% (w/w) of a pharmaceutically acceptable oil as an oil base based on the weight of the emulsion composition, about 1% to about 30% (w/w) of a phospholipid with a high purity based on the weight of the oil base, about 1.6% to about 40% (w/w) of a non-proton-providing surfactant based on the weight of the oil base, and the balance of the emulsion composition being water.
