    Abstract: Provided is a secondary battery in which: at least a portion of a first outermost peripheral tape opposes a first end portion heat resistant layer; at least a portion of a second outermost peripheral tape opposes a second end portion heat resistant layer; and a ratio (A1/W) of a length (A1) from one end, in a width direction, of a separator to a central side end portion, in the width direction, of the first outermost peripheral tape to a length (W), in the width direction, of the separator, and a ratio (A2/W) of a length (A2) from the other end, in the width direction, of the separator to a central side end portion, in the width direction, of the second outermost peripheral tape to the length (W), in the width direction, of the separator are each at most equal to 0.25.

    Abstract: In the present invention, an electrode terminal of a battery includes: a first connection part that encloses one side in an axial direction of an annular groove portion provided in a circumferential wall of the battery; a second connection part that encloses another side in the axial direction of the groove portion; and a bridge portion that connects the first connection part and the second connection part. When the swelling of the battery causes the groove portion to expand in the axial direction, the bridge portion ruptures and thereby blocks a current flowing between the first connection part and the second connection part.

    Abstract: A cylindrical secondary battery comprises an outer package can with a cylindrical cylinder part and an electrode body arranged within the cylinder part. A ratio of the minimum value of the outer diameters in the cylinder central part of the outer package can, the cylinder central part being positioned in the center in the axial direction, to the average value of the outer diameters in the cylinder bottom end part is 99.89% or more; and the ratio of the maximum value of the outer diameters in the cylinder central part to the average value of the outer diameters in the cylinder bottom end part is 100.80% or less. The outer diameters in the cylinder central part periodically change with respect to the angle of circumference; and the period in which the outer diameters in the cylinder central part change with respect to the angle of circumference is 0.4π to 1.0π.

    Abstract: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes an exterior package, an electrode assembly, and an electrolyte solution. In a cross section orthogonal to a winding axis of the laminated assembly, the electrode assembly has a contour line having a corner-rounded rectangular shape. The contour line consists of a first arc-shaped portion, a straight line portion, and a second arc-shaped portion. The contour line has a height ratio (R1=H0/H1) of 1.20 to 1.35. H0 represents a distance between two points most distant from each other on the contour line. H1 represents an average length of the two line segments. The separator includes a first main surface and a second main surface. The first main surface is in contact with the negative electrode plate. A first dynamic coefficient of friction between the first main surface and the negative electrode plate is 0.52 to 0.66.

    Abstract: A battery cell, a battery, and an electrical device are described. The battery cell includes an electrode assembly. The electrode assembly is wound along a winding direction to form a jelly-roll structure containing a roll core cavity in a central region. The battery cell further includes a gel-state central column packed in the roll core cavity and formed by coagulation. The central roll core cavity formed by winding the electrode assembly is packed with the gel material that coagulates to form a gel-state central column. In this way, the central column can support the electrode assembly after coagulating in shape, thereby improving the deformation resistance of the electrode assembly, and reducing the risk of central collapse of the electrode assembly. In addition, when the electrode assembly is squeezed, the central column can serve as an elastic cushion to some extent.
