摘要: A shiftable support for use in tunnels, mines and the like. A plurality of longitudinally arrayed supporting frames is connected by connecting means, which connects at least alternate ones of the frames to form them into units. Displacing means displaces the supporting frames individually or the units with reference to one another, between a supporting position and a shifting position in which the respective frames or units are advanced in forward direction. Operating means decreases the dimensions of the frames in a plane transverse to the direction of advancement preparatory to displacement to the shifting position, and increases the dimensions upon displacement from the shifting position to the support position.

摘要: A mine roof support system includes a plurality of truss members each having first and second ends which are positioned in spaced relationships one behind another. There are vertically extensible props under each end of the truss member which include stabilizer sleeves to stabiize the truss members thereabove. The vertically extensible props can be extended and retracted to adjust a vertical height of the props for supporting the truss member and for moving it into and out of engagement with the mine roof. Each of the props is supported by a ground engaging means in the form of a selectively operable propulsion unit capable of being operated to produce horizontal movement of the respective props and ends of the truss members. Connecting elements beneath the ends of the truss members connect the props in tandem relationship to permit the horizontal movement of truss members and associated props relative to each other by the propulsion units. Each of the truss members is horizontally expandable to facilitate transportion through a mine passageway prior to being positioned for movement into and out of engagement with the mine roof. The truss member can include a major portion which is fabricated of reinforced fiberglass to permit deflection without permanent deformation when supporting the mine roof to provide a warning prior to any failure of the truss member under the weight of the mine roof.

摘要: A walking mine-roof support comprising two roof support units which are to be moved with respect to one another for advancing the support, each of the units including a pair of spaced-apart frames each comprising a pair of hydraulically-extensible props disposed one at each side of the frame connected to a cross-member extending between the props, the two frames of each unit being interconnected by roof-supporting bars connected to the cross-members of the frames, the two roof support units overlapping one another in the direction of advance of the support so that first and third frames form a leading one of the units and second and fourth frames form the other unit which is a trailing unit, the two frames of one unit being connected to a frame of the other unit disposed between the two frames by respective first and second rams, whereby during relative movement between the units one of the rams is extended while the other retracts.

摘要: A mobile mine roof support assembly has three mine roof support units coupled together by a common transverse beam. Roller devices are mounted beneath the floor sills of the support units. The roller devices are spring biased away from their floor sills so that they can lift the floor sills away from the floor of a working when the assembly is to be moved. At least one roller device of each support unit is a steerable roller device so that the assembly can be steered round bends. Each steerable roller device is pivotally mounted on its floor sill about a vertical axis, and is provided with an associated steering device. The steerable roller devices are preferably coupled together by means of a common steering device.

摘要: A self-moving tunnel support canopy includes front arch frame, rear arch frame, forward jack, and support jack disposed under the front arch frame. The front arch frame has front arch beams and front longitudinal beams longitudinally disposed along arch upper surfaces of front arch beams and coupled to all the front arch beams. The rear arch frame has rear arch beams and rear longitudinal beams longitudinally disposed along arch upper surfaces of the rear arch beams and coupled to all the rear arch beams. The front longitudinal beams and the rear arch beams are spacedly disposed, and a spacing is configured between the front arch beam and a front-adjacent rear arch beam. One end is coupled to the front arch frame, and the other end of the forward jack is coupled to the rear arch frame. The front arch beam and the rear arch beam are both arch-shaped beams.
