A steering method for a steering device intentionally turns two axles (12a, 12b) of a truck (12) of a railway vehicle relative to a frame of the truck. The two axles are arranged at front and rear of the truck with respect to a direction of running of the railway vehicle. The steering method includes steering the axles such that a steering angle (α1) of the front axle (12a) is larger than a steering angle (α2) of the rear axle (12b).

    摘要: The driven running gear is intended for low-platform rail vehicles with at least two body parts which are articulated to each other. It is provided with two individual running gears (2, 2') fitted with steering means (15, 15', 16). The running gears are interconnected to pivot about their horizontal axis beneath the axial center of the wheels (8, 8') by a connecting member (3). The connecting member has at its ends transversely directed support arms (4, 4') for the support of a body part. On the latter there are fastened at least one motor (21, 21') and a brake (23, 23', 24, 24') which drive and brake the running gear (1) via telescopic universal shafts (25, 25') and bevel gearings (26, 26') arranged on the outside of the wheels on both individual running gears (2, 2'). In this way, upon travel around a curve, the angle of bend formed between a leading body part in the direction of travel under which such a running gear is located and a trailing body part which is also supported on an axle is transmitted to the steerable individual running gears so that the desired curve-radial position of the pairs of wheels results.

    摘要: A twin-axle rail-bogie which incorporates a steering mechanism for positively steering one or both of the axles of the rail-bogie in proportion to the rotation of the frame of a structure supported by this rail-bogie. Steering is achieved by slidably mounting one of the axle end supporting assemblies onto the chassis of the bogie so that this assembly is longitudinally slidable and thus causes the one axle having one of its ends connected thereto to pivot forwards or rearwards out of its normal transverse position relative to the transversally opposite supporting assembly which holds the other end of the one axle and then acts as a pivot. An operating arm attached to the frame near the one supporting assembly is used for moving via a linking mechanism the one supporting assembly in such a direction as to cause the one axle held by this supporting assembly to pivot in the same direction but at an angle smaller than and proportional to the frame with respect to the chassis of the bogie.

    摘要: This invention applies the linkage connected between the interaxle yokes of a truck and a railroad vehicle car body so as to create radially steered alignment of wheelsets on circular curves without reference to the truck frame. Forces exchanged between the wheelsets and the car body are essentially longitudinal and no significant lateral forces are created on the truck frame or car body from the steering action. The steering linkage utilizes the longitudinal component of relative motion of a point on the car body with reference to the vehicle truck to cause relative pivotal movement of the interaxle yokes thereby guiding the wheelsets to a radial alignment. Radial alignment is achieved by suitable proportioning of the links of the mechanism.
