Abstract: During idle operation of an engine, on satisfaction of a predetermined condition including a condition that a vehicle speed is not higher than a reference value, a hybrid vehicle controls the engine with adjusting a throttle position such that a rotation speed of the engine becomes equal to target idle rotation speed or is in a predetermined rotation speed range including the target idle rotation speed. On non-satisfaction of predetermined condition, the hybrid vehicle controls the engine with setting the throttle position to a fixed value, The reference value is set to provide larger value when the rotation speed of the engine becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined rotation speed that is lower than the target idle rotation speed and is higher than a resonance rotation speed of the vehicle, compared with a value when the rotation speed of the engine is higher than the predetermined rotation speed.

Abstract: When a starting point water temperature Twst is equal to or lower than a threshold value Twref1, catalyst warm-up control is executed, and when a cooling water temperature Tw becomes higher than the threshold value Twref1 or an operation time top of an engine becomes equal to or higher than a threshold value topref1, the control of the engine is shifted from the catalyst warm-up control to normal control. When the starting point water temperature Twst is higher than the threshold value Twref1 and is equal to or lower than a threshold value Twref2, PN suppression control is executed, and when the cooling water temperature Tw of the engine becomes higher than the threshold value Twref2 or the operation time top of the engine becomes equal to or higher than a threshold value topref2, the control of the engine is shifted from the PN suppression control to the normal control.

Abstract: An air amount control valve of a vehicle changes an intake air amount drawn into a cylinder. A fuel cutoff process stops fuel injection from a fuel injection valve when stopping combustion in the cylinder in a case in which a crankshaft is rotating. When execution of the fuel cutoff process is requested, a temperature-increase limiting process is executed to draw fresh air into a catalyst by increasing the intake air amount through control of the air amount control valve. In a case in which an anomaly occurs in driving of the air amount control valve when executing the temperature-increase limiting process, an amount of air drawn into the catalyst is increased by increasing an engine speed.

Abstract: A hybrid vehicle includes: an engine for traveling in which a filter that removes particulate matter is attached to an exhaust system; a motor configured to generate a driving force for the hybrid vehicle; and an electronic control unit configured to restart injection of a fuel into the engine when a needed output of the engine reaches a threshold or higher while the injection of the fuel into the engine is stopped. The electronic control unit is configured to, when a filter regeneration condition that an accumulation amount of the particulate matter on the filter is equal to or more than a predetermined accumulation amount and a temperature of the filter is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature is established, set the threshold to be higher than a threshold set when the filter regeneration condition is not established.
