    Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for beam refinement to enable inactive mode transmission in frequency range 2 for 3GPP RedCap devices. A RedCap device receives system information in a SIB1 from a wireless network in which the SIB1 includes information relating to an indication of resources used to transmit a SIB-x. The device receives the SIB-x, which includes an indication of at least one resource, at least one configuration for a Downlink-Reference Signal (DL-RS) transmission, and information relating to a measurement report relating to the beam-refinement measurement that is to be performed by a device. The device receives the DL-RS transmission from the wireless communication network, performs the beam-refinement measurement, and sends a measurement report to the wireless network. Subsequent to sending the measurement report, the device sends an enhanced transmission to the wireless network based on the measurement report.

    Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for processing data to be mapped into a transport block transmitted over a wireless physical shared channel. In one embodiment, a code block determination circuit determines a size of a code block of data that maps across at least one slot boundary of a slot of the wireless physical shared channel. A rate matching circuit rate matches bits of a code block to a number of bits available in the transport block that spans one or more slots of the wireless physical shared channel. An interleaver interleaves an output of the rate matching circuit so that a code block that crosses a slot boundary between a first slot and a second slot is interleaved between the first slot and the second slot.

    Abstract: Various aspects include a method for preserving a msg3 transmission. The method may include receiving, by a UE device, from a base station, a CI that overlaps with the msg3 transmission. Responsive to receiving the CI, the msg3 transmission is not canceled. Another method disclosed herein includes continuing an RA procedure. The method may include encoding a first part of the msgB. The method may include encoding a second part of the msgB. The method may include attempting to decode, by the UE device, the first part of the msgB. The method may include attempting to decode, by the UE device, the second part of the msgB. Based on successfully decoding of the first part of the msgB, and unsuccessfully decoding of the second part of the msgB, the method may include continuing the RA procedure.
