    Abstract: A display panel and a display apparatus including the display panel are provided. The display apparatus includes: a display panel; and a backlight unit configured to supply light to the display panel, wherein the display panel includes: a liquid crystal layer; a first polarizing plate disposed between the backlight unit and the liquid crystal layer; and a second polarizing plate facing the first polarizing plate with the liquid crystal layer disposed therebetween, and containing a light absorbing agent for absorbing light of a specific wavelength band, wherein the first polarizing plate includes: a first polarizing layer including a plurality of refracting layers having different refractive indexes; and at least one second polarizing layer disposed on the first polarizing layer.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a display apparatus and a control method thereof. The display apparatus includes a liquid crystal panel, a backlight unit including a light source module including a plurality of light sources, the backlight unit including a light guide plate configured to guide light emitted from the light source module to the liquid crystal panel, and a controller configured to control the liquid crystal panel and the backlight unit, and each of the plurality of light sources includes a first light emitting diode (LED) configured to emit a first light and a second LED configured to emit a second light in a color different from a color of the first light, and the controller determines current values to be applied to the first LED and the second LED based on a picture mode.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a backlight unit outputting light to the display panel, and an optical member refracting or reflecting the light output from the backlight unit and providing the display panel with the light. The backlight unit includes a light source emitting the light, a light guide plate scattering the light emitted from the light source and irradiating the scattered light to a front surface of the backlight unit, a reflective sheet reflecting the light, which is irradiated to a rear surface of the light guide plate, to the light guide plate, a quantum dot sheet for converting the light, which is irradiated to the front surface of the light guide plate, into a white light, and a light-converting material provided on an edge portion of the reflective sheet to convert the light into the white light.

    Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to an ink composition for reflective sheet capable of preventing a luminance difference occurring at an upper or lower end of a display panel and display apparatus including the same and method of manufacturing the display apparatus.
    The display apparatus of the disclosed embodiment comprises a display panel to display an image, a light source configured to supply light to the display panel, a light guide plate configured to guide light emitted from the light source, a reflective sheet movable between a first state close to the lower surface of the light guide plate and a second state farther away from the lower surface of the light guide plate than the first state, and a reflective pattern provided on the reflective sheet and configured to be disposed in contact with the light guide plate in the first state, wherein the reflective pattern on the reflective sheet is formed of an acrylate resin including a multi-functional acrylate monomer.
