Abstract: The present disclosure describes various examples of a method, an apparatus, and a computer readable medium for multi-state discontinuous reception (DRX) in wireless communications. For example, one of the methods described may include identifying, by a user equipment (UE), at least two states in connected mode, determining, by the UE, one or more triggers for transitioning between the at least two states, and transitioning, by the UE, from a first state of the at least two states to a second state of the at least two states in response to a determination of the one or more triggers. In an aspect, the transitioning comprises transitioning between cross-slot scheduling and same-slot scheduling, or between a narrow bandwidth and a wide bandwidth, or between a larger periodicity and a smaller periodicity for monitoring.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for providing improved power efficiency during DRX wake-up are disclosed. An example method of wireless communication at a UE includes receiving a WUS from a base station while performing a DRX cycle, the WUS indicating data for transmission to the UE. The example method also includes at least one receiving a downlink reference signal or transmitting an uplink reference signal based on the WUS and prior to reception of the data, the uplink reference signal transmitted or the downlink reference signal received during an on-duration of the DRX cycle and in response to receiving the WUS. The example method also includes sending a CSI report to the base station based on the WUS and prior to the receiving of the data. The example method also includes receiving the data following the respective receiving or transmitting of the downlink reference signal or uplink reference signal.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for applying a zero element beam to conserve power in search and measurement operations of a UE. The UE may determine to measure a set of SSBs, where each SSB of the set of SSBs is transmitted on four symbols, and further determine a subset of the SSBs for which less than the four symbols associated with the SSBs are to be used for measurement of the SSBs. The UE may measure each SSB of the subset of the SSBs through less than the four symbols associated with the SSB.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, configuration information indicating a wake-up signal (WUS) configuration associated with a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, wherein the WU'S configuration indicates one or more WUS occasions. The UE may identify one or more conditions. The UE may refrain from monitoring at least one WUS occasion, from the one or more WUS occasions, based at least in part on the identification of the one or more conditions. Abstract: In the examples described herein, a user equipment (UE) may identify multiple carriers configured for communications with a base station, and the UE may group the carriers into one or more preferred groups for synchronized scheduling at the base station. The preferred groups of carriers for synchronized scheduling may represent a recommendation that carriers within a preferred group are to be scheduled for communications with the base station on at least partially overlapping resources to maximize power savings at the UE. The UE may transmit an indication of the preferred groups of carriers to the base station, and the base station may identify an actual group of carriers for synchronized scheduling based on the indication received from the UE. The base station may then schedule communications with the UE based on the actual group of carriers.
