Abstract: The described techniques enable repeated physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble transmissions across multiple random access occasions (ROs) using a same spatial filter. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a PRACH preamble across multiple ROs, where each RO is associated with a same synchronization signal block (SSB) or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS). In such cases, the PRACH repetitions may be transmitted in ROs in accordance with a mapping rule: first, in increasing order of frequency resource index; second, in increasing order of a time resource index; third, in increasing order of PRACH slot indices; and fourth, in increasing order of PRACH association period indices. Additionally, or alternatively, the PRACH repetitions may be transmitted in ROs in accordance with a mapping rule: first, in increasing order of time resource index; second, in increasing order of PRACH slot indices; and third, in increasing order of PRACH association period indices.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for carrier selection for paging on a flexible cell. The apparatus receives an indication to monitor at least one carrier from a flexible cell for a paging message. The flexible cell comprising an anchor carrier and one or more non-anchor carriers. The apparatus monitors a first carrier from the flexible cell for the paging message based on the indication, the paging message associated with a PDCCH that schedules a PDSCH. The apparatus may receive, from the flexible cell, a downlink BWP configuration for the anchor carrier and the one or more non-anchor carriers.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a first message of a random access procedure. The UE may receive, from the base station, a second message of the random access procedure that indicates information for an uplink grant for a third message of the random access procedure, the information including a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) indication and a transmit power control (TPC) indication. The UE may transmit, to the base station, one or more repetitions of a physical uplink shared channel carrying the third message. A repetition factor for the one or more repetitions may be indicated by at least one of the MCS indication or the TPC indication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a technique for parallel distribution matching (DM) encoding. A user equipment (UE) implements the technique to perform a first round of parallel DM encoding using k information bits as input by: 1) segmenting the k information bits into N blocks of information bits, and 2) encoding the N blocks of information bits in parallel with N DM blocks. Each of the N blocks outputs one or more encoded information bits in each of the NDM blocks, and a total number of information bits output by the N DM blocks is less than k. The UE then performs a second round of parallel DM encoding using k′ information bits that were not encoded in the first round of DM encoding. The second round of parallel DM encoding includes a same encoding process as implemented in the first round of parallel DC encoding.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a random access channel preamble to abase station. The UE may receive, from the base station and in response to the random access channel preamble, a grant comprising a first frequency hopping indication associated with intra-slot frequency hopping and a second frequency hopping indication associated with inter-slot frequency hopping. The UE may identify, based at least in part on the first frequency hopping indication or the second frequency hopping indication, a frequency hopping configuration for transmission of repetitions of an uplink transmission responsive to the grant. The UE may transmit the repetitions of the uplink transmission using one or more frequency Chops in accordance with the frequency hopping configuration.

Abstract: A base station and a user equipment (UE) may perform a dynamic waveform switching for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmissions. The base station may send a configuration for dedicated waveform switching associated with the PUSCH transmissions, and transmit, to the UE, an indication of a first waveform for transmitting the PUSCH, the indication being independent of the bandwidth part (BWP) configuration for the PUSCH. Based on the configuration for the dedicated waveform switching associated with the PUSCH transmissions and the indication of the first waveform for the PUSCH transmission, the UE may transmit the PUSCH, at least one PUSCH repetition, and at least one retransmission of the PUSCH, and the base station may receive the PUSCH, at least one PUSCH repetition, and at least one retransmission of the PUSCH.
