Abstract: Techniques pertaining to multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) joint time of arrival (ToA) and angle of arrival (AoA) for Wi-Fi systems in wireless communications are described. An apparatus performs channel estimation to obtain a plurality of multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) channel state information (CSI). The apparatus then calculates weighted MIMO CSI and determines a time of arrival (ToA) or the ToA and an angle of arrival (AoA) based at least on the weighted MIMO CSI.

Abstract: A data unit processing method performed by a first communication device, comprising: configuring a data unit by the first communication device, the data unit comprising: a specific format preamble following a first packet format; and a symbol part, comprising at least one symbol and following a Wi-Fi long range packet format. The specific format preamble can be decoded according to a first communication standard and the symbol can be decoded according to a Wi-Fi long range mode. The symbol part can be identified according to the specific format preamble. A method can decode the above-mentioned data unit and a communication device can perform the methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A transmitter applies secure sequences on each symbol and each sub-carrier of K long training fields (LTFs). A receiver receives the K LTFs each having N symbols. An attack detection method for Wi-Fi secure ranging from the transmitter to the receiver includes using a channel estimation (CE) result of N symbols in a first LTF of the K LTFs to demodulate symbols in a Kth LTF of the K LTFs to obtain demodulated secure sequences of the symbols in the Kth LTF, generating respective bit error rates (BERs) of the N symbols in the Kth LTF by comparing applied secure sequences of the symbols in the Kth LTF with demodulated secure sequences of symbols in the Kth LTF, and verifying if the Kth LTF has been attacked according to the respective BERs of the N symbols in the Kth LTF and average BERs for the symbols in the Kth LTF.

Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus includes a channel estimation circuit, a beamforming control circuit, and a transmit (TX) circuit. The channel estimation circuit estimates a channel between the wireless communication apparatus and another wireless communication apparatus during at least one first time slot. The beamforming control circuit determines beamforming coefficients according to the estimated channel. The TX circuit applies the beamforming coefficients to transmission of an output data during at least one second time slot later than the at least one first time slot. During the at least one second time slot, the output data is transmitted to another wireless communication apparatus via multiple antennae. The wireless communication apparatus performs communications according to a normal frequency hopping sequence in compliance with a communication specification.
