Abstract: A sensor arrangement for detecting an object in a surrounding of a trailer when towed by a vehicle, the sensor arrangement including: at least one sensor mountable at a rear side of the vehicle with a field of view underneath the trailer and configured to capture a detection signal from the object; and a control unit configured to receive a sensor signal from the at least one sensor, wherein the sensor signal is indicative of the object and the control unit is configured to confirm a presence of the object behind or at a side of the trailer.

Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring a vehicle camera system. The vehicle camera system includes at least one camera to capture images of a field of view at a side of the vehicle and a display unit for visualizing the captured images to a driver of the vehicle. The apparatus includes a control unit adapted to control the display unit to display a graphical indicator, the displayed graphical indicator changes sequentially in a default way to allow the driver to visually detect a malfunctioning of the vehicle camera system based on a deviation from the default way of the sequentially changing graphical indicator.
