Abstract: A wireless communication device, system and method. The device includes a memory, and processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry includes logic to: determine a training field length associated with a directional multigigabit (DMG) CTS frame of another wireless communication device; determine a Clear-To-Send time (CTS_Time) parameter based at least in part on the training field length; determine a transmit opportunity (TXOP) continuation timeout for the device based on the CTS_Time parameter; and set a network allocation vector (NAV) for the device based on the TXOP continuation timeout.

Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and method for channel access are generally described herein. The AP may contend for access to a channel. The contention may be performed in accordance with an omni-directional enhanced distributed channel access function (EDCAF) for transmission within an omni-directional pattern. The contention may be further performed in accordance with a directional EDCAF for transmission to a station (STA) in a directional pattern. The AP may determine whether to transmit within the omni-directional pattern based at least partly on an omni-directional backoff parameter. The AP may further determine whether to transmit in the directional pattern based at least partly on a directional backoff parameter.

Abstract: Some demonstrative embodiments include apparatuses, systems and/or methods of communicating a Single-User (SU) Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) transmission. For example, a first wireless communication station may be configured to transmit a Request to Send (RTS) to a second wireless communication station via a plurality of SU MIMO Transmit (Tx) sectors of the first wireless communication station, the RTS to establish a Transmit Opportunity (TXOP) to transmit an SU-MIMO transmission to the second wireless communication station, a control trailer of the RTS including an indication of an intent to transmit the SU-MIMO transmission to the second wireless communication station; and to transmit the SU-MIMO transmission to the second wireless communication station, upon receipt of a Clear to Send (CTS) from the second wireless communication station indicating that the second wireless communication station is ready to receive the SU-MIMO transmission.

Abstract: Computing readable media, apparatuses, and methods for network allocation vector operations to reduce channel access delay. An apparatus of a wireless device is disclosed. The apparatus comprising processing circuitry configure to: select a first one or more directional multi-gigabit (DMG) antennas from DMG antennas of the wireless device. The processing circuitry further configured to configure the wireless device to perform a clear channel assessment (CCA) for each of a plurality of CCA configurations applicable to the first one or more DMG antennas, where each CCA configuration comprises a second one or more of the DMG antennas. The processing circuitry further configured to if each CCA configuration applicable to the first one or more DMG antennas indicate the channel is idle, decrease a backoff time, and, if the backoff time is zero, configure the wireless device to transmit a packet on the channel using the first one or more DMG antennas.

Abstract: A wireless communication device, system and method. The device includes a memory, a processing circuitry coupled to the memory and including logic, the processing circuitry to cause communication in an Enhanced Directional Multi-Gigabit (EDMG) network. The processing circuitry may be configured to: activate at least one Radio Frequency (RF) chain of a plurality of RF chains to allow detection of a preamble of a wireless communication and to allow a setting of a Network Allocation Vector (NAV); detect the preamble using the at least one RF chain; set the NAV using the at least one RF chain; maintain a backoff timer for the at least one RF chain; and, in response to a determination that the backoff timer has reached zero, cause a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) wireless communication in the EDMG network.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to spatial reuse using quasi-omni and directional clear channel assessment (CCA). A device may use multiple antenna elements in an antenna array to perform both a quasi-omni CCA and a directional CCA during the same time slot. Some embodiments may use different antenna weight vectors to switch the antenna array between quasi-omni and directional CCA. Other embodiments may dedicate some elements of the array to quasi-omni CCA and other elements of the array to directional CCA. The device may use the combination of quasi-omni CCA and directional CCA to determine whether a channel is free for transmitting.
