Abstract:
A system includes a plurality of sensing devices disposed at a premises, the sensing devices being configured to generate data based on activity detected at one or more openings in the premises and to transmit the data, a plurality of speakers dispersed at the premises, a memory configured to store output profiles corresponding to a plurality of respective events and to store a plurality of respective sounds, and a processor configured to identify an event based on the transmitted data and to execute a stored output profile assigned to the event, the execution including automatically playing a stored sound through one or more of the speakers in accordance with the selected output profile.
Abstract:
A system for analyzing a current movement of a point on a garage door can include a memory, a port, and a processor. The memory can be configured to store a profile. The profile can be produced from one or more previous movements of the point on the garage door. The port can be configured to receive, from a sensor, a signal that corresponds to the current movement of the point on the garage door. The processor can be configured to perform an analysis of the signal with respect to the profile. The processor can be configured to produce a result of the analysis.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of the disclosed embodiments provide a sensor to detect a side from which a door or window is being opened, and a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor to determine the side from which the door or window is being opened, and to generate a security exception based on the determination of the side from which the door or window is being opened.
Abstract:
Systems and techniques are provided for guided installation feedback for an opening sensor. Detected magnetic field strengths of a magnetic field created by a magnet of an opening sensor as detected by a magnetometer sensor of the opening sensor may be received over a time period. It may be determined that there has been a change in the strength of the magnetic field created by the magnet as detected by the magnetometer sensor based on the received detected magnetic field strengths. Accelerometer data from an accelerometer disposed in the magnetometer sensor may be received. It may be determined from the accelerometer data that the magnetometer sensor was not moving and positive feedback may be provided to an installer of the opening sensor, or it may be determined from the accelerometer data that the magnetometer sensor was moving and negative feedback may be provided to the installer of the opening sensor.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosed subject matter provide systems and methods of adaptively adjusting sensitivity of a sensor of a security system that provide a first sensor to detect a motion event of a door or window of a building, and a controller communicatively coupled to the first sensor, to determine whether the detected motion event is a human-caused motion event or a periodic motion event by a comparison between data of the detected motion event and stored motion data, and to generate a security exception when the detected motion event is determined to be a periodic motion event, where the controller adaptively adjusts a sensitivity of the first sensor to detect the motion event according to data aggregated by the first sensor over a predetermined period of time.
Abstract:
A system is provided including a plurality of inter-connected premises management devices, each including one or more sensors that generate data about an environment, and a control device to control one or more operations of the premises management system, the control device including a movement detector. The premises management system detects an attempt by an intruder to damage the control device based on data from the movement detector indicating an abnormal movement applied to the control device, historical data obtained from the sensors, and current data obtained from the sensors.
Abstract:
Systems and techniques are provided for guided installation of an opening sensor. A strength of a magnetic field created by a magnet of an opening sensor at a location of a magnetometer sensor of the opening sensor may be determined. Feedback may be provided to an installer of the opening sensor based on the determined strength of the magnetic field. A function of the opening sensor may be configured based on the determined strength of the magnetic field. The function may be associated with reporting the status of an entry point to which the magnetometer sensor may be affixed.

Abstract:
A magnet and magnetometer may be integrated into a smart home environment and allow it to be placed into an away mode of operation despite an entry point being semi-open. The disclosed implementations can detect a magnetic field strength and determine, based on the detected field strength, an approximate distance that a moveable partition is open. In some configurations, the presence of a second magnetic source can be detected. A notice may be generated based on one or more signals received from the magnetometer. The notice may be sent to a controller, a remote system, a remote device, and/or a client device as disclosed herein.
Abstract:
A second security system, which may exist inside the perimeter of a first security system, may utilize one or more sensors to observe an object. The first security system may have a “home” mode and an “away” mode. In the event the first security system is in the home mode, the second security system may be in an away mode for the object. If the first security system changes to an away mode, the second security system may change to a home mode for the object.
