    摘要： A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, stretcher, or the like, includes a support deck with a head section pivotable between a generally flat orientation and a raised orientation. As the head section pivots from the flat orientation to an intermediate orientation, the pivot axis of the head section remains generally stationary. As the head section pivots from the intermediate orientation to the raised orientation, the pivot axis of the head section moves. The support deck may include an intermediate section attached to the head section wherein a foot end of the intermediate section moves linearly in a horizontal plane as the head section pivots from the intermediate orientation toward the raised orientation.

    摘要： The present invention provides a control apparatus that can be ergonomically and movably connected to a patient support apparatus. The control apparatus comprises a control module which is operatively coupled to the patient support apparatus and can provide a means for controlling the plurality of patient support apparatus functions. The control module is adapted for connection to a housing and the housing is movably connected to the patient support apparatus by a coupling device. The coupling device enables the relative movement of the housing and as such the control module relative to the patient support apparatus. In this manner access to the control module, and therefore to the functionality of the patient support apparatus, can be provided independent of the configuration of the patient support apparatus.

    摘要： A siderail support mechanism comprises a bottom cross-member having a first lower pivot and a second lower pivot, a first support arm and a second support arm. The first support arm includes a first upper pivot shaft and a first lower pivot shaft, the first upper pivot shaft being configured to pivotally attach to the siderail at a first upper pivot and the first lower pivot shaft configured to pivotally attach to the first lower pivot of the bottom cross-member. The first upper pivot includes an oblong slot. The second support arm includes a second upper pivot shaft having a locking cog for locking the siderail in a deployed position. A release handle is centrally positioned on the siderail to enable one-handed operation in disengaging the locking mechanism and lowering the siderail to a stowed position.

    摘要： A bed siderail support assembly which includes a frame, a support deck mounted on the frame and having upwardly and downwardly facing sides. The support deck has a head end, a foot end and opposite lateral edges extending between the head end and the foot end. At least one siderail is oriented along side of at least one of the lateral edges and a connecting mechanism is provided which is configured to connect the siderail to either the frame or the downwardly facing side of the support deck. The connecting mechanism includes a support configured for securement to either the frame or the support deck, an elongate toothed rack longitudinally movably mounted on the support, a pair of parallel arms pivotally mounted on the support, a toothed pinion gear on each arm supported for meshing engagement with the toothed rack and a mount pivotally secured to each of the arms and being configured to support a bed siderail thereon.
