    摘要: Disclosed is a power switching module for a battery module assembly in which a plurality of rectangular battery modules, each having a plurality of battery cells or unit modules connected in series to each other, are stacked in the width (longitudinal) and height (transverse) direction by at least twos such that the battery modules constitute a hexahedral structure (hexahedral stack), outer edges of the hexahedral stack are fixed by a frame member, and input and output terminals of the battery modules are oriented such that the input and output terminals of the battery modules are directed toward one surface (a) of the stack, wherein the power switching module comprises an insulative substrate mounted to the surface (a) of the stack, elements mounted on the substrate for controlling voltage and current during charge and discharge of the battery modules, and connection members mounted on the substrate for interconnecting the control elements.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a battery module including two or more plate-shaped battery cells, as unit cells, constructed in a stacked structure in which electrode terminals of the battery cells are connected in series with each other and the electrode terminal connections are bent such that the battery cells are stacked, and a pair of high-strength cell covers for surrounding the outer surfaces of the battery cells when the cell covers are coupled with each other. The present invention has the effect of easily mounting a sensing unit that is capable of minimizing the weight and size of battery cells while effectively reinforcing the low mechanical strength of the battery cells and sensing the operation state of the battery cells to a battery module. In addition, the present invention has the effect of manufacturing the battery module by a simple assembly process without using a plurality of members for mechanical coupling and electrical connection, thereby decreasing the manufacturing costs of the battery module, and effectively preventing the battery module from being short-circuited or damaged during the manufacture or the operation of the battery module. Furthermore, the present invention has the effect of manufacturing a middle- or large-sized battery system having desired output and capacity using the battery module as a unit body.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a battery module including a charge and discharge stack, constituted by a plurality of secondary battery cells that can be charged and discharged or a plurality of unit modules having the secondary battery cells, mounted between an upper module case and a lower module case, wherein the lower module case is provided with joint structures including coupling parts (upper and lower coupling parts) for allowing both upward and downward couplings, and the upper module case is provided with joint holes communicating with the upper coupling parts of the joint structures. The battery module according to the present invention has the effect of reinforcing the low mechanical strength of the battery cells while the weight and size of the battery module is minimized. Also, the battery module according to the present invention is mounted to an inner frame of a vehicle or an additional frame fixed in the vehicle by a simple joint structure without using a plurality of members for a mechanical joint, whereby the manufacturing costs of the battery module are generally decreased. Furthermore, the battery module according to the present invention is safely protected when vibrations are generated from the vehicle during the driving of the vehicle. In addition, it is possible to easily manufacture a middle- or large-sized battery system having desired power and capacity using the battery module as a unit body.

    摘要: In a cooling system for cooling a battery pack mounted in a vehicle, the battery pack is mounted at an inner lower end of the vehicle constructed in a corrugated structure including alternating valleys and peaks. Battery modules of the battery pack are arranged such that unit cells of each battery module are mounted vertically on the corrugated lower end of the vehicle. The cooling system includes a coolant inlet port and a coolant outlet port formed at a lower-end member of a housing surrounding an outer surface of the battery pack. The coolant inlet port and the coolant outlet port are formed using a structure of the vehicle.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a three-dimensional electrode terminal of a battery having an electrode assembly mounted in a pouch-shaped case, wherein a part of the electrode terminal, which is exposed from the battery case, has a predetermined thickness, and has a perpendicular surface (a perpendicular end surface) formed on the end thereof. According to the present invention, it is possible to easily accomplish the connection between the electrode terminal and the electrically connecting member without modifying the shape of the electrode terminal, and it is possible to easily accomplish the connection for detecting the voltage, the current, and the temperature of the battery. Furthermore, the mechanical strength of the three-dimensional electrode terminal according to the present invention is higher than that of the conventional plate-shaped electrode terminal. Consequently, the stability of the three-dimensional electrode terminal is high in the state that the electrode terminal is electrically connected with the electrically connecting member, and the electrical connection is easily accomplished even in a small space, especially when batteries are stacked one on another with high density so as to manufacture a medium- or large-sized battery module.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a battery module including two battery cells, each of which has electrode terminals formed at upper and lower ends thereof. The battery module further includes a frame member, to which upper-end sealing parts, lower-end sealing parts, and one-side sealing parts of the battery cells are mounted, a metal sheathing member for covering the outer surfaces of the battery cells while the battery cells are mounted to the frame member, and caps (an upper-end cap and a lower-end cap) mounted to the upper and lower ends of the battery cells, respectively, which are covered by the metal sheathing member. According to the present invention, it is possible to minimize the weight and the size of the battery module while increasing the strength of the battery cells. Also, it is possible to easily mount the detecting means that detects the operation of the battery cells, and it is possible to effectively prevent the occurrence of short circuits during the assembly or the operation of the battery module. Furthermore, it is possible to easily perform the electric connection between the battery modules when manufacturing the medium- or large-sized battery module using the respective battery modules as unit bodies.
