    摘要: The present disclosure discloses a thermal plasma treatment method for sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) degradation. In the thermal plasma treatment method for SF6 degradation, Ar is input into a thermal plasma generator as a carrier gas; annular electrodes are electrically connected to a direct current power supply to generate an arc plasma region in the presence of the carrier gas Ar; to-be-reacted SF6 and to-be-reacted H2 in a predetermined ratio are input into the arc plasma region to generate hydrogen radicals as well as fluorine radicals, and the hydrogen radicals and the fluorine radicals are bonded with each other to generate HF to inhibit the self-recovery reaction of SF6; and final products include HF and elemental S.

    摘要: A torch having first and second housing portions may contain multiple adjustment features such as an adjustable length, an adjustable pivot angle of the second housing portion, and an adjustable rotational angle of the second housing portion. The second housing portion may be both slidably and rotationally coupled to the first housing portion. The second housing portion may be configured to slide along a longitudinal axis of the torch to adjust a length of the torch. The second housing portion may be further configured to rotate about the longitudinal axis of the torch to adjust the rotational orientation of the second housing portion with respect to the first housing portion. At least a section of the second housing portion may be configured to pivot about a transverse axis with respect to the first housing portion, the transverse axis being transverse to the longitudinal axis of the torch.

    摘要: This specification describes systems, methods, and architectures related to generating a plasma shield for laser operations. An example system for generating a plasma shield includes a laser head for directing a laser beam towards a target area on a workpiece. The path of the laser beam from the laser head to the target area on the workpiece is substantially surrounded by a plasma shield, which may form a gas-impermeable barrier. The plasma shield is configured to prevent the ingress of atmospheric or environmental gases, for example oxygen, into an area which would allow the gas to be in contact with the area of the workpiece being interacted with by a laser beam. The shape or location of the plasma shield may be controlled or altered using a magnetic field.

    摘要: A cartridge for an air-cooled plasma arc torch is provided. The cartridge includes a swirl ring having a molded thermoplastic elongated body with a distal end, a proximal end, and a hollow portion configured to receive an electrode. The swirl ring also has a plurality of gas flow openings defined by the distal end of the elongated body and configured to impart a swirling motion to a plasma gas flow for the plasma arc torch. The swirl ring further includes a nozzle retention feature on a surface of the elongated body at the distal end for retaining a nozzle to the elongated body. The cartridge further includes a cap affixed to the proximal end of the elongated body of the swirl ring for substantially closing the proximal end of the elongated body.
