Abstract:
A system for content presentation is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the system includes Input/Output(I/O) circuitry to receive an indicated location and an indicated one or more preferred sources of content. Memory stores scheduling information that includes a location information and date information associated therewith. A processor identifies at least one media segment for inclusion into a customized media programming stream based on (a) comparing the indicated location to the location information; (b) comparing the current date to the associated date information; and (c) comparing the indicated one or more preferred sources for content to the content source information. The processer assembles a customized media programming stream by adding the at least one identified media segment to the customized media programming stream. The I/O circuitry transmits the customized media programming stream for presentation on a user device.

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for media crediting and, more particularly, methods and apparatus of media device detection for minimally invasive media meters. An example apparatus disclosed herein to detect media devices presenting media includes means for generating a cluster of media locations from a reference population of media locations based on media identifying information received from a presentation of media at an unidentified media device at a first media location, means for determining media devices available at the media locations in the cluster of media locations, means for identifying the unidentified media device based on (1) the media devices available at the media locations in the cluster of media locations and (2) an identity of a media device determined to be available in a majority of media locations in the cluster of media locations.

A method for processing a digital audio broadcast signal in a radio receiver, includes: receiving a hybrid broadcast signal; demodulating the hybrid broadcast signal to produce an analog audio stream and a digital audio stream; and using a normalized cross-correlation of envelopes of the analog audio stream and the digital audio stream to measure a time offset between the analog audio stream and the digital audio stream. The time offset can be used to align the analog audio stream and the digital audio stream for subsequent blending of an output of the radio receiver from the analog audio stream to the digital audio stream or from the digital audio stream to the analog audio stream.

Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for reducing spillover in a media monitoring system are disclosed. An example method includes identifying media associated with media monitoring data. The media monitoring data is received from a first meter associated with a first media presentation device. The example method includes identifying an expected crest factor associated with the media. The example method includes comparing the expected crest factor to a received crest factor to determine if spillover occurred. The received crest factor is received from the first meter. The example method includes crediting the media as a media exposure if spillover did not occur.
Abstract:
In a mobile radio communication system of the cognitive radio method, a database device has a use state table indicating a probability that each frequency band is used for each period of time and for each location. An on-vehicle terminal acquires a frequency band having the highest probability that the band is empty at the current time and the current location according to the use state table and performs a radio communication by using the frequency band. The use state table is preferably created by a statistical process using the database device which acquires the use states of frequency bands of various locations and times by using respective vehicles as probe cars. Thus, it is possible to detect the frequency of the empty state in a short time.

A method for capturing information related to an audio signal includes broadcasting an acoustic signal capable of human perception, broadcasting an RF signal containing information related to content of the acoustic signal, receiving the acoustic signal, receiving the RF signal with a portable device, and using the portable device, storing the information related to the content of the acoustic signal. A similar method is used to capture information related to a visual display.

A distribution system and reception apparatus, and methods thereof, are provided for broadcasting and receiving a plurality of non-backwards-compatible services. The broadcasting method includes receiving, by a first service provider, a plurality of first services, which include a first service from each of the first and second service providers. The first service provider generates a first broadcast multiplex, including the plurality of first services, and broadcasts the first broadcast multiplex on a first broadcast channel allocated to the first service provider. A second service provider receives a plurality of second services, which include a second service from each of the first and second service providers. The second service provider generates a second broadcast multiplex, including the plurality of second services, and broadcasts the second broadcast multiplex on a second broadcast channel allocated to the second service provider.
