摘要: An aspect of the present disclosure is a transmission system including a modulated wave generation unit that generates an intermediate wave, which is a coherent wave in which a frequency component of either of two signals overlays a frequency spectrum, the two signals being a main signal indicating transmitted information to be transmitted and a control signal indicating management information, which is information on communication between a transmission source of the transmitted information and a communication destination of the transmission source, and a modulation unit that modulates the intermediate wave with a signal in which a frequency component does not overlay the frequency spectrum of the coherent wave generated by the modulated wave generation unit out of the two signals that are the main signal and the control signal. In the transmission system, a frequency band of the main signal and a frequency band of the control signal do not overlap each other.

摘要: The invention relates to a data transmission method, comprising the steps of: generating from a data stream to be transmitted, a plurality of frequency-domain digital sample streams, each digital sample stream modulating a respective subcarrier defining a respective subcarrier channel, converting the frequency-domain sample streams into temporal sample streams, by an inverse spectral transform, combining the temporal sample streams into a composite stream, frequency-shifting the composite stream using a digital oscillator at an intermediate frequency above 1 GHz, converting the shifted composite stream into an analog signal, frequency-shifting the analog signal to a carrier frequency above 2 GHz using an analog oscillator at a carrier frequency, filtering the analog signal to attenuate the carrier frequency, and transmitting the filtered signal via an antenna.

摘要: A method of RF signal processing comprises receiving an incoming RF signal at each of a plurality of antenna elements that are arranged in a first pattern. The received RF signals from each of the plurality of antenna elements are modulated onto an optical carrier to generate a plurality of modulated signals that each have at least one sideband. The modulated signals are directed along a corresponding plurality of optical channels with outputs arranged in a second pattern corresponding to the first pattern. A composite optical signal is formed using light emanating from the outputs of the plurality of optical channels. Non-spatial information contained in at least one of the received RF signals is extracted from the composite signal.

摘要: A compact tunable optical true time delay consists of an optical subassembly to apply dispersion-free time delay to the input optical signal, and a mechanical subassembly to facilitate tuning the delay using a linear actuator. The deployment of a precision optical ferrule sliding in a precision split sleeve offers a self-contained and inexpensive method to minimize optical misalignment during the tuning process, which releases the burden of the mechanical subassembly and is also advantageous in keeping the device compact. The exterior dimension remains unchanged at any moment despite the interior motion. Both reflection-type and transmission-type optical time delays are introduced, driven either manually or electrically.

摘要: A switching network for effecting point-to-point communication between nodes has a time-varying switching configuration, which causes successive activation and deactivation of multiple channels of the switching network, a first of the channels connecting, when activated, a transmitter node and a first receiver node, and a second of the channels connecting, when activated, the transmitter node and a second receiver node. In a training phase, a method comprises: transmitting from the transmitter node via each channel a known training signal, to cause each receiver node to receive a distorted training signal, using the first distorted training signal and knowledge of the first known training signal to determine respective one or more transmit-side equalizer (EQ) coefficients for each channel, and storing, in memory accessible to the transmitter node, the first transmit-side EQ coefficients, in association with each channel, for use in conducting scheduled communications over the switching network in a communications phase.
