Abstract: A wireless power transmission system is provided which wirelessly transfer electric power from a power transmitter to a power receiver. The wireless power transmission system works to set a capacitance of a primary capacitor of a primary resonant circuit to undergo resonance with a self-inductance of a primary coil at an angular frequency that is an operating frequency. A tertiary capacitor of a tertiary resonant circuit has a capacitance set to undergo resonance with a self-inductance of a tertiary coil. A secondary capacitor of a secondary resonant circuit has a capacitance set to reduce a reactive component of ac power arising from self-inductances and mutual inductances of the primary coil, the secondary coil, and the tertiary coil.

Abstract: A power transmission method for a wireless power transmitter, the power transmission method including receiving, from a wireless power receiver, a foreign object detection (FOD) status packet including information on a reference quality factor or a reference peak frequency, and at least one of a signal strength packet, an end power transfer packet, a power control hold-off packet, a control error packet, a renegotiation packet, an eight-bit reception power packet, and a charging status packet to which a byte encoding technique is applied; determining whether a foreign object is present in a charging area of the wireless power transmitter based on the FOD status packet; and generating a foreign object detection indicator indicating whether the foreign object is present in the charging area of the wireless power transmitter based on a result of the determination and transmitting the generated foreign object detection indicator to the wireless power receiver, wherein the byte encoding technique is a technique of inserting a start bit, a stop bit, and a parity bit into an encoded binary bit stream of a packet having a length of 8 bits.

Abstract: Described is a method for an augmented Quality of Service (QoS) wireless charging configuration in an Internet of Things (IoT) network for managing wireless charging of devices within an area. The method can identify multiple wirelessly chargeable devices within an area and generate a spatial plan for the area with the multiple wirelessly chargeable devices. The method can further identify a position for each wirelessly chargeable device devices within the spatial plan for the area and determine priority for the identified wirelessly chargeable devices based on status information for each wirelessly chargeable device. The method can adjust a wireless charging signal pattern for the spatial plan based on the priority for the identified wirelessly chargeable devices.

Abstract: Method for contactless power transmission between a stationary part (14) and a movable part (15) and electrical power supply circuit (17) for implementing the method comprising an air-coupled transformer (19) provided with a primary resonant circuit with a primary coil (20) supported by the stationary part and a secondary resonant circuit with a secondary coil (21) facing the primary resonant circuit and supported by the movable part. The primary resonant circuit is fed with an alternating primary electrical voltage (V1) which causes a primary electrical current (I1) to circulate. The primary electrical current (I1) induces in turn in the secondary resonant circuit an alternating secondary electrical voltage (V2) which causes a secondary electrical current (I2) to circulate. An electrical variable influencing the achievement of the resonance condition is adjusted, for example the frequency (F) of the primary electrical voltage, in such a way to operate in a resonance condition. The distance (d) between the stationary part and the movable part is determined as a function of a value of such electrical variable. A contactless connection system includes the stationary and movable parts and the electrical power supply circuit.

Abstract: A power transmission device includes power transmission coils arranged in a line, a power transmission circuit connected to the power transmission coils, and control circuitry that switches an electrical connection between the power transmission circuit and each power transmission coil, detects a relative position between the power receiving coil and each power transmission coil, selects two or more power transmission coils adjacent to each other based on the detected relative position, and causes the power transmission circuit to supply the AC power to the selected two or more power transmission coils. In a direction perpendicular to an array direction of the power transmission coils, width Dlt of each power transmission coil is equal to or longer than width Dlr of the power receiving coil. In the array direction, width Dwt of each power transmission coil is shorter than width Dwr of the power receiving coil and satisfies 0.2≤Dwt/Dwr.
