    Abstract: A smoke detector comprises a light source, an optical sensor, a first, and a second processing circuit. The optical sensor senses optical data and comprises; a first oscillator, generating a first oscillating signal; and a second oscillator, generating a second oscillating signal. The first processing circuit generates a first command to instruct the first oscillator to oscillate for a first expected oscillating time, and acquires a first real oscillating time, wherein the first processing circuit further computes a time relation between the first expected oscillating time and the first real oscillating time. The first processing circuit generates a second command to instruct the second oscillator to oscillate for a second expected oscillating time according to the time relation. The second processing circuit controls the smoke detector to generate a first alarm according to the time relation. The optical sensor can also be applied to other electronic devices.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure describe systems and methods for evaluating an operational aspect of a life safety detection device. The method comprises transmitting light from at least one light source into a detection chamber positioned within an interior of a housing of the device. Further, the method comprises receiving, over a predefined time period, scattered light within the detection chamber, wherein the scattered light is indicative of a presence of airborne particulate matter. Furthermore, the method comprises determining, by a processor coupled to the device, a variation pattern of the airborne particulate matter during the predefined time period to analyze, by the processor, the variation pattern of the airborne particulate matter over the predefined time period with respect to another variation pattern during the predefined time duration to evaluate operational aspects of the device.

    Abstract: Herein disclosed in some embodiments is a fault detector for power amplifiers of a communication system. The fault detector can detect a portion of the power amplifiers that are in fault condition and can prevent or limit current flow to the power amplifiers in fault condition while allowing the rest of the power amplifiers to operate normally.     Abstract: Device for improving an optical detecting smoke apparatus and implementing thereof. Apparatus and methods for detecting the presence of smoke in a small, long-lasting smoke detector are disclosed. Specifically, the present disclosure shows how to build one or more optimized blocking members in a smoke detector to augment signal to noise ratio. This is performed while keeping the reflections from the housing structure to a very low value while satisfying all the other peripheral needs of fast response to smoke and preventing ambient light. This allows very small measurements of light scattering of the smoke particles to be reliable in a device resistant to the negative effects of dust. In particular, geometrical optical elements, e.g., cap and optical defection elements, are disclosed.
