    Abstract: An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a sheet includes a rotatable image bearing member, a transfer roller, a fan, and a duct. The duct extends in a parallel direction to a shaft direction of the transfer roller and includes an inflow port to guide air. The duct further includes, in an area opposing the transfer roller, a first opening portion that is provided at a position closer to a first end side of the duct than to a second end side of the duct, and a second opening portion that is provided at a position closer to the second end side than to the first end side, in the parallel direction. The air supplied to the duct by the fan through the inflow port passes through the first opening portion and the second opening portion, and is supplied to the transfer roller.

    Abstract: According to an aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a cleaning device including: an elastic plate-shaped cleaning unit that has a tip portion disposed in contact with a surface of an object-to-be-cleaned which moves in a predetermined direction, is provided to be inclined in a direction facing a moving direction of the object-to-be-cleaned, and cleans hot-melt powder remaining on the object-to-be-cleaned; a facing unit that is disposed in contact with a back surface side of the object-to-be-cleaned and is provided to face the cleaning unit across the object-to-be-cleaned; and a heating unit that heats a contact portion of the cleaning unit to a temperature lower than a softening point of the powder by heating the facing unit.

    Abstract: A memory of an image forming apparatus is configured to store drum cartridge information and toner cartridge information. The drum cartridge information includes at least a number of drum printed sheets or a number of drum rotations. The toner cartridge information includes at least a number of toner printed sheets, a number of development rotations, or a toner dot count. A controller updates the drum cartridge information and the toner cartridge information stored in the memory in association with execution of image formation. The controller performs a rotation continuation operation of continuing rotations of a photosensitive drum and a development roller until a rotation continuation time elapses after a last sheet in a print job passes the photosensitive drum. The rotation continuation time is determined based on the drum cartridge information and the toner cartridge information.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a development device, a fixing device, an apparatus main body, and a fan including a rotating shaft that extends in a longitudinal direction of the photosensitive drum and a blade around the rotating shaft. The development device develops a toner image on the photosensitive drum. The fixing device fixes the toner image from the photosensitive drum to a recording material. The apparatus main body is provided with a discharge port from which the toner-fixed recording material is discharged. A length of the fan rotating shaft in the longitudinal direction is longer than a diameter of a rotational trajectory of the blade. The fan is provided on a downstream side of the fixing device in a discharge direction in which the recording material is discharged from the discharge port and overlaps a part of the development device when viewed in a vertical direction.

    Abstract: An image forming system includes: a transfer unit that transfers an image formed of a thermally fusible image-forming material to a medium that moves; a thermal fixing unit disposed downstream of the transfer unit in a moving direction in which the medium moves, the thermal fixing unit fixing the image on the medium by at least heating the image; and a cooling unit that cools a spatial region between the transfer unit and the thermal fixing unit. The cooling unit has suction openings through which outside air is taken into the spatial region between the transfer unit and the thermal fixing unit from both sides of the spatial region in a crossing direction crossing the moving direction of the medium. The cooling unit includes an exhaust unit that draws in and discharges air in the spatial region such that an amount of air drawn in a central region in the crossing direction of the medium is greater than an amount of air drawn in regions adjacent to ends in the crossing direction of the medium.
