摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a forming unit, a transfer unit, a blowing unit, a temperature detection unit, and a control unit. The forming unit forms a toner image on a photosensitive member. The transfer unit transfers the formed toner image onto a recording material. The blowing unit takes outside air into the apparatus to generate an air flow for adjusting a temperature of the transfer unit. The temperature detection unit detects an ambient temperature outside the apparatus. The control unit controls driving of the blowing unit based on the detected ambient temperature. The control unit drives the blowing unit in a case where the detected ambient temperature is less than or equal to a first temperature threshold and a gradient value indicating a change in the detected ambient temperature is at least a first gradient threshold.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, an adjustment processing portion, an acquisition processing portion, and a setting processing portion. The image forming portion forms an image using toner. During execution of an image forming process using the image forming portion, the adjustment processing portion uses the toner to adjust the image quality of an output image output by the image forming process. The acquisition processing portion acquires variation amount information related to the amount of variation in a predetermined state value related to the image forming portion caused by a start of the image forming process. The setting processing portion sets the frequency of adjustment of the image quality of the output image by the adjustment processing portion, based on the variation amount information acquired by the acquisition processing portion.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image bearer, a developing device, a motor, and circuitry. The developing device includes a screw and a developing roller. The screw stirs and conveys a developer. The developing roller bears the developer stirred and conveyed by the screw, brings the developer into contact with the image bearer, and develops an electrostatic latent image on the image bearer. The motor drives the developing device at multiple process speeds. The circuitry is configured to cause the motor to drive the screw and the developing roller before the developing roller starts developing the electrostatic latent image on the image bearer and adjust a drive time of the motor based on a process speed in a previous printing and a process speed in a next printing.

The temperature sensor contacts the planar heater through the opening to detect a temperature of the planar heater. The projection projects from the opening in the conveyance direction. The first portion has a first width in the conveyance direction. The second portion is inside a minimum sheet-passing region in an axial direction of the pressure rotator orthogonal to the conveyance direction and outside the first portion in the axial direction and has a second width smaller than the first width in the conveyance direction.

When a transfer voltage is subjected to constant-voltage control so that the transfer voltage applied to the transfer member by the applying portion is substantially constant, in a case that the transfer voltage, when a toner amount used for a toner image is a first toner amount, is a first voltage, the controller controls the applying portion so that the transfer voltage is a second voltage lower in absolute value than the first voltage in a case that the toner amount is a second toner amount greater than the first toner amount. The acquiring portion acquires toner amount information on the toner amount for each toner image transferred onto a single recording material.

摘要: In an image forming apparatus, a calculation processing portion includes an input portion and an input-portion abnormality determining portion. The input portion is connected to a temperature detection portion. When an abnormality detection circuit has detected that a temperature detected by the temperature detection portion is an abnormally heated temperature, the input-portion abnormality determining portion determines whether or not a first temperature calculated as a temperature of a fixing member is lower than a predetermined second temperature, and upon determining that the first temperature is lower than the second temperature, determines that the input portion is abnormal.
