摘要： The fixing device includes: a rotatable endless fixing belt; a heater that heats the fixing belt; a holding member that holds the heater so that a front surface thereof is in contact with an inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt; and a pressure member that is pressed against the heater with the fixing belt therebetween and to form a pressure area between the pressure member and the fixing belt where a sheet to which a toner image has been transferred is heated and pressed. A uniform heating layer is formed on a rear side of the heater without any gaps.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device, a temperature detector, and processing circuitry. The fixing device fixes a toner image on a surface of a sheet by heating of a heater. The temperature detector detects an internal temperature of the image forming apparatus. The processing circuitry switches a continuous print mode to an intermittent print mode when the internal temperature is equal to or higher than a first execution temperature during the continuous print mode. The processing circuitry cancels the intermittent print mode and switches to the continuous print mode when the internal temperature is equal to or lower than a first cancellation temperature. The processing circuitry causes the heater to stop heating the fixing device in the intermittent print mode when the internal temperature is higher than the first cancellation temperature even after a predetermined time has elapsed since a start of the intermittent print mode.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, an exposure device, an image density sensor, and a control portion. The control portion can, by adjusting the development voltage based on the image density of a reference image and the amount of exposure from the exposure device, perform image density correction to adjust the image density. The control portion predicts the toner charge amount based on a formation condition of the reference image and the image density of the reference image and determines the timing of performing the image density correction next time based on the rate of change of the toner charge amount calculated using a first toner charge amount predicted when the image density correction was performed last time, a second toner charge amount predicted when the image density correction is performed this time, and the interval between the image density correction performed last time and this time.
