    Abstract: A expansion chamber assembly for a firearm is disclosed. The expansion chamber contains an outer tube containing a front end and a rear end, a front cap coupled with the outer tube at the front end, a rear cap coupled with the outer tube at the rear end, an inner tube retained within the outer tube by the front cap and the rear cap, wherein the inner cap contains one or more through apertures to allow expanding gasses to move from the inner tube into the outer tube, and one or more exit apertures to allow expensing gases to exit the expansion chamber assembly.

    Abstract: Dynamic ram accelerator operation permits operation with lower acceleration, permitting launch of acceleration sensitive payloads such as crewed vehicles. Operational cost is reduced, and reliability improved, by reducing or eliminating internal consumable parts. Relative motion between a projectile and propellant at entry to the ram accelerator enables initial ram combustion at relatively lower velocity. Valves may maintain separation between sections within the ram accelerator that contain different propellant compositions. Timing of valve opening and closing is coordinated to provide conditions suitable for ram combustion. Control over propagation speed of propellant within the system may be obtained using one or more of baffle shape, baffle spacing, propellant temperature, propellant pressure, propellant mixture, temperature of components such as baffles, and so forth. Before the projectile is launched, internal separators between sections are removed, providing an open path to the ram accelerator exit.

    Abstract: A sound suppressor with integrated ablative injection system for firearms or similar devices includes a hollow elongate body, having a projectile entry via a proximal threaded base cap featuring an opening into which the barrel is affixed, an interior space through which the projectile and propellant gasses pass and a distal threaded end cap opposite of the projectile entry featuring an opening through which the projectile and propellant gases exit. The elongate body contains within a blast chamber through which the projectile passes and into which propellant gas enters and expands. Subsequent to the blast chamber, the elongate body contains a plurality of individual serially placed baffles designed to slow and disrupt the flow of propellant gasses. The device features an injection port, affixed to which is a valve or fitting into which an ablative media is injected and through which said ablative media is introduced into the blast chamber.

    Abstract: A firearm suppressor can comprise an outer shell, and a suppressor core disposed inside the outer shell. The suppressor core can have a projectile passageway for a projectile from a firearm to travel through. The projectile passageway can extend along a longitudinal axis. The suppressor core can also include a central support rib disposed along the longitudinal axis. In addition, the suppressor core can include a first baffle and a second baffle spaced apart along the longitudinal axis and supported by the central support rib. The first and second baffles can be oriented at different angles from one another. The first and second baffles and the central support rib can at least partially define the projectile passageway. The first and second baffles and the central support rib can also at least partially form two different sized expansion chambers on opposite sides of the central support rib in fluid communication with the projectile passageway to receive discharge gases associated with the projectile.

    Abstract: Firearms and barrel assemblies are provided herein that include a barrel assembly having a barrel having a proximal end and a distal end comprising a muzzle. The barrel also includes a chamber defined in the proximal end. The chamber includes a distal end and a proximal end. A bore extends distally from the distal end of the chamber. The bore defines a central axis of the barrel assembly. The barrel assembly also includes a barrel extension extending from the proximal end of the barrel. The barrel extension has a distal end and a proximal end. The barrel extension defines a bolt receiving recess in communication with the chamber. The barrel extension further has a barrel vent channel defined therein in communication with the bolt receiving recess. The barrel vent channel is defined in the barrel extension in a direction that is transverse to the central axis of the barrel assembly.
