摘要: A Flettner rotor that employs localized suction over its surface improves performance and fuel efficiency. Simulations and analysis show that such a method can significantly improve the performance of the Flettner rotor. Improvements in rotor performance enable reduction in fuel costs and greenhouse gas emission by ships or other modes of transport. Improvements in rotor performance can also reduce noise for applications such as drones or other devices having rotors.

摘要: In a first aspect of the invention there is provided a method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade. The method comprises providing a mould for a shell of the wind turbine blade, the mould extending in a longitudinal direction from a root end to a tip end; providing a plurality of elongated root inserts; providing a root plate with a plurality of arcuately arranged connection points; at the connection points, connecting the root inserts to the root plate, such that the connected root inserts jointly form a contour of a portion of a root section of the wind turbine blade; and positioning the root plate relative to the mould in order to place the contour formed by the root inserts at least partially into the mould. The method further comprises providing a spacer having a decreasing thickness, and the connecting of the root inserts to the root plate comprises providing the spacer between the root inserts and the root plate.

摘要: Energy harvesting system, for harvesting energy from renewable resources, including an array of wind turbines disposed along a towering construction, and plurality of laterally outlying ledges branching outwardly in vertically spaced-apart respective levels, alternately lined-up along the towering construction between the wind turbines. Each of ledges includes an upper ledge surface and/or a lower ledge surface, slanted at a slope for deflecting ingoing wind and/or diffusing outgoing wind toward and away from the adjacent wind turbine, respectively. A photovoltaic (PV) solar panel layout is disposed on upper ledge surface, and includes at least one PV solar panel for absorbing and converting solar energy into electricity. The system may include one or more energy storage modules, usually operational for being lifted along towering construction. The towering construction may include wind and solar sensors and may be rotatable, so as to adjust horizontal orientation of towering construction for optimal energy harvesting.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a blade segment for a segmented wind turbine blade, and a resulting segment for a segmented wind turbine blade as well as the segmented wind turbine blade. In particular, the blade segment comprises a female spar part defining an inner cavity and having a longitudinal inner end and an opposite longitudinal open end towards an end face of the blade segment, a first spar cap connected to an inner surface of a first shell portion and comprising a first primary spar cap portion. The blade segment further comprises a first secondary spar cap portion affixed to a first outer surface of the female spar part. The first secondary spar cap portion is glued to the inner surface of the first shell portion and/or to the first primary spar cap portion forming a glue interface between the first secondary spar cap portion and the inner surface of the first shell portion and/or the first primary spar cap portion.
