    摘要: A method of forming a scribe line in a strengthened glass substrate includes providing a strengthened glass substrate having a first surface, a second surface, a first edge and a second edge. The first and second surfaces have a strengthened surface layer under a compressive stress, and a central region under tensile stress. The method further includes applying a scoring blade to the first surface at an initiation location that is offset from the first edge by an initiation offset distance greater than a diameter of the scoring blade, and translating the scoring blade or the strengthened glass substrate such that the scoring blade scores the first surface. The translation is terminated such that the scoring blade stops at a termination location that is offset from the second edge of the strengthened glass substrate by a termination offset distance greater than the diameter of the scoring blade.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus for bending a glass sheet and a method for bending a glass sheet including an apparatus and a method for conveying a glass sheet, and it aims at producing with good efficiency a glass sheet of high quality, having complicated configuration.The method for bending a glass sheet comprises a step of placing a heated glass sheet on an inner mold with a tilting mechanism arranged at an inner side of a forming ring with a tilting mechanism, the forming ring being provided with a fixed frame and a movable frame, to thereby preform the glass sheet, a step of transferring the glass sheet preformed on the inner mold with a tilting mechanism onto the forming ring with a tilting mechanism and a step of pressing the glass sheet with a predetermined forming plane of the forming ring and tilting the movable frame, wherein the step of preforming the glass sheet includes a step of preforming the glass sheet placed on the inner mold by tilting a movable frame of inner mold pivoted at an end of a fixed frame of inner mold provided in the inner mold.

    摘要: The method of making a knobbed glass or glass ceramic plate includes placing a glass or glass ceramic plate on a support having knob-shaped elevations and/or depressions; jointly heating the plate and the support over a transformation temperature of the glass or glass ceramic plate and, advantageously after a certain time interval, subsequently cooling the plate to room temperature. The glass or glass ceramic plate with knobs made by the method is also part of the invention. The glass or glass ceramic plate with the knobs can be used in heating units, such as baking ovens, for thermal isolation or decoupling of differently heater spatial regions. Also it can be provided with a germ killing coating for use in an air conditioning unit to clean air.

    摘要: The invention relates to a process for bending glass sheets. This process involves bending the glass sheet or sheets in at least two stages. The first stage employing the action of gravity leading to a shaped blank which is used in the formation of the final shape. The last stage which leads to the final shape, involves the simultaneous or nonsimultaneous, combined actions of gravity and at least one additional mechanical force. The invention also includes a bending apparatus providing at least one section having two separately useable parts with one of the parts being movable with respect to the other to permit the section to be arranged in one of two positions. In addition, the invention includes bent glazing having at least one docking angle exceeding 50.degree. and a radius of curvature below 200 mm.

The lower bending mold in the shape of a frame is comprised of individual frame segments (9, 10, 11, 12) which can be moved between a closed position defining said lower bending frame and an open position in which the segments are separated from one another by such a distance that the upper bending mold can pass through the space defined within the separated segments.

    摘要: An apparatus for bending a glass sheet in a gravity bending step and in a subsequent press bending step includes a gravity bending mould having a fixed mould portion and an articulated wing portion adjacent to the fixed mould portion, a base on which the fixed mould portion is mounted and a hinged locking arm mounted between the wing portion and the base. The locking arm is movable from an unlocked position in which the wing portion is capable of moving vertically relative to the base to a locked position in which the wing portion is fixed in position relative to the base. A method of bending a glass sheet involves placing a glass sheet on a gravity bending mould having an articulated wing portion and a fixed mould portion, and conveying the mould carrying the glass sheet through a furnace in which the glass is heated to the glass softening point and is bent by gravity until the periphery of the glass sheet is in contact with and conforms to the shape of the upper surface of the gravity bending mould. The wing portion is provided with a locking arm which, during gravity bending, progressively moves from an unlocked position to a locked position at which the wing portion is fixed in a predetermined position corresponding to the desired shape of the glass sheet. The glass sheet is then press bent, while the glass sheet is supported by the gravity bending mould.
