Abstract: A system for providing solar power to a watercraft includes a hull having an outer surface, defining a recess extending inward and offset from the outer surface by a distance, and configured to float on water. The system further includes a solar panel configured to fit within the recess and having a thickness that is substantially equal to the distance such that an outer edge of the solar panel is substantially aligned with the outer surface of the hull.

Abstract: A watercraft includes left and right hull members that are held in spaced apart, parallel relation by a supporting frame structure. A pendulum propulsion assembly mounts to the frame structure, between the hull members, and includes left and right pendulum assemblies that are each movable in a forward and rear direction by the operator's arms and legs. Each pendulum assembly includes at least a forward pendulum member extending through an upper pivotal connection to a lower pivot element coupled to a horizontal pendulum plane. A paddle holder mounted below the pendulum plane supports an arrangement of spaced paddles. Operation of the left and right pendulum assemblies in the forward and reverse alternating action through a normal stride causes the paddles to propel the watercraft in a forward direction. Forward flexing of the paddles in the power stroke is limited by tethers connecting between the paddles and the paddle support.

Abstract: An aftermarket adaptor apparatus for a float-board is disclosed. My invention permits a user to adapt a conventional buoyant water float-board (typically a “stand-up paddleboard”, surf board, or other floatable device), to effectively convert it into a foot-propelled exercise board. The adapted float-board allows a user to travel across, over, and through water by the action and means of the user's feet treading and ambulating upon a treadmill integral to said adaptor apparatus (after its attachment onto said float-board). In practice, the treadmill is affixed onto and over the upper surface of the float-board at the time of the adapter being attached. Accordingly, the affixed adaptor upgrades a simple float-board for treadmill propulsion through the water. The adapted float-board permits a user to “self-propel” over, across, and through a body of water. This is accomplished by (1) the user attaching said adapter securely onto said float-board, (2) the user positioning the adaptor in place by strapping down the adaptor, (3) the user placing the adapted float-board into the water, and then while afloat and getting underway, (4) the user balancing and standing on top of and treading upon the adaptor's integral foot-actuated treadmill which is suspended over the buoyant coupled assembly comprising the original float-board with its attached propulsion adaptor.

Abstract: A watercraft includes a chassis, a drive, a hydrofoil and a drive transfer arm. The drive is operatively connected to a first end of the drive transfer arm. The hydrofoil is pivotably connected to a second end of the drive transfer arm. The watercraft is configured such that operation of the drive causes the hydrofoil to oscillate, to provide thrust. The hydrofoil is pivotably connected to the second end of the drive transfer arm with an adjustable connection mechanism. The adjustable connection mechanism is such that the distance between a leading edge of the hydrofoil and a rotational axis of a pivoting connection point to the drive transfer arm is adjustable.
