    Abstract: A nail guiding member integrally formed of one piece is provided. The nail guiding member includes a plate body, a recess and a rib. The plate body includes a first side, the recess is disposed on the first side and includes two side walls and a nail outlet between the two side walls, the rib is fixedly disposed on and protrusive from a bottom surface of the recess and is lower than the first side, the rib extends toward an nail outlet, and the rib is closer to one of the two side walls. A nail gun includes the nail guiding member, and further includes: a gun body including the nail rail movably disposed thereinside; and a striker disposed in the gun body and movable to be between the nail rail and the recess of the nail guiding member.

    Abstract: A fastening tool including a magazine securely and releasably retained on the fastening tool by a cam mounted on one of the fastening tool and the magazine. In a single rotary motion, the cam wedges together the housing member of the fastening tool and the housing member of the magazine, while simultaneously rotating cam lobes into respective chambers formed on the fastening tool and the magazine. The cam rotation and magazine retention system is accomplished without tools.

    Abstract: A powered fastener driver includes a housing, a nosepiece, a driver blade movable within the nosepiece between a ready position and a driven position, a piston coupled to the driver blade, a driver cylinder within which the piston is movable, a storage chamber cylinder containing pressurized gas therein and in fluid communication with the driver cylinder, a lifting mechanism for moving the driver blade to the ready position, and a motor coupled to the lifting mechanism to drive the lifting mechanism. An onboard air compressor is driven by the motor and is driven while the lifting mechanism is driven. A feed system is in fluid communication with the onboard air compressor and includes a primary feed mechanism adjacent the nosepiece and a secondary feed mechanism adjacent the nosepiece. The primary feed mechanism and the secondary feed mechanism are actuated by compressed air received from the onboard air compressor.

    Abstract: A fastener driver includes a housing defining a head portion and a handle portion, a drive mechanism positioned within the housing, and a firing mechanism. The firing mechanism includes a piston, a driver blade attached to the piston, a biasing member having a first end supported within the piston and a second end supported by the head portion, and a damper positioned between the firing mechanism and the head portion of the housing.     Abstract: A powered fastener driver including a housing defining a cylinder support portion with a cylinder and a motor housing portion. The driver includes a piston and a driver blade. The piston is movable within the cylinder from a top-dead-center (TDC) position to a bottom-dead-center (BDC) position with a blade attached thereto for driving a fastener. The driver includes a lifter for moving the piston and blade, in unison, from the BDC position toward the TDC position. The driver includes a nosepiece from which the fastener is discharged, a motor disposed in the motor housing portion, a fan coupled to the motor to receive torque therefrom, causing the fan to generate an airflow, and a conduit for directing the airflow to at least one of away from the cylinder to clear and/or prevent debris accumulated in the cylinder support portion of the housing, or toward the cylinder for cooling the cylinder.

    Abstract: A rotary-to-linear lifter for fastener driving tools is provided that has independently movable lifter pins that lift a driver with driver protrusions during a lift stroke. The lifter includes a central lifter shaft that rotates during a lift stroke, a solenoid that actuates, a plurality of lifter pins, and a lifter base. When the solenoid actuates, the lifter pins protrude from the top of the lifter base, and when not actuated, the lifter pins retract inside the lifter base. Each lifter pin has a set of forward and rearward springs that allow for longitudinal pin movements along the lifter's axis of rotation. If there is interference during a lift stroke, individual lifter pin(s) become blocked, and mostly remain inside the lifter base, until the lifter rotates the affected pin away from the interference. Then that lifter pin will again protrude from the lifter base, ready to engage the driver protrusions.

The control system comprises: a sensing unit configured to sense an operating characteristic of the power tool; a first control unit configured to determine whether the operating characteristic is within a safe operational range, and to output a first control signal at least partially based on the determination; a second control unit configured to determine whether the operating characteristic is within a safe operational range independently of the first control unit, and to output a second control signal at least partially based on the determination; and an output unit configured to receive the first and second control signals and to activate the power tool when the first and second control signals are received.
