Abstract: Bubble traps for use in medical fluid lines and medical fluid bubble trap systems are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the bubble trap is configured to trap gas (e.g., air) that flows into the bubble trap from a fluid line. In some embodiments, the bubble trap includes an inlet and an outlet and a chamber between the inlet and the outlet. For example, in some embodiments, the bubble trap is configured to inhibit gas from flowing into the outlet once gas flows into the chamber from the inlet. In some embodiments, the bubble trap is in fluid communication with a source container, a destination container, and/or a patient.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for performing peritoneal dialysis. According to one aspect, the disclosure provides a sterile interface connection for connecting a water purification system to a disposable source of dialysate concentrates. The sterile interface connection can include a chamber comprising an inlet adapted to be connected to the water purification system on a proximal end and a valve on a distal end. The sterile interface connection can also include spring-loaded needle disposed in the chamber. The spring-loaded needle can move between a retracted configuration in which the spring-loaded needle is fully retracted into the chamber and the valve is closed and sealed, and an extended configuration in which the spring-loaded needle extends through the valve into the disposable source of dialysate concentrates.

Abstract: An add-on for a self-injector is described. The add-on includes an adaptor having at a rigid and a bent fluid path. The adaptor is sized and fitted to sterilely couple the bent fluid path to a tip of a fluid reservoir. The add-on also includes a fastener sized and fitted to couple a body of the fluid reservoir to the self-injector. The internal diameter of the fastener is adjustable. The adaptor and the fastener couple to the self-injector to at least one of a plurality of reservoirs having different sizes and tip types. The self-injector can include a support plate with a plurality of attachment points. The fastener can be sized and fitted to couple to the body of the fluid reservoir and to at least one of the attachment points. A retention cantilever can releasably couple the at least one fastener to the support plate.

Abstract: A system for confirmation of fluid delivery to a patient at the clinical point of use is provided. The system includes a wearable electronic device. The wearable electronic device has a housing; at least one imaging sensor associated with the housing; a data transmission interface; a data reporting accessory for providing data to the user; a microprocessor for managing the at least one imaging sensor, the data transmission interface, and the data reporting accessory; and a program for acquiring and processing images from the at least one imaging sensor. The system further includes a fluid delivery apparatus; and one or more identification tags attached to or integrally formed with the fluid delivery apparatus. The program processes an image captured by the at least one imaging sensor to identify the one or more identification tags and acquires fluid delivery apparatus information from the one or more identification tags.
