Abstract: The present disclosure relates to visualizing an operative field in the context of a dental operating theater, and more specifically, to a portable, modular, multifunctional intraoral imaging system to assist a practitioner in performing a medical or dental procedure in a confined space (e.g., intraoral cavity or mouth of a patient). The system may include an intraoral camera apparatus having a camera unit equipped with a wireless transmitter, and a viewscreen mounted to an articulated stand or dental delivery unit, wherein the camera wirelessly may transmit an image to a viewscreen located directly in front of a dental practitioner. The practitioner may look directly ahead at a high-definition screen to view the operative field. A dental practitioner may use the apparatus to perform micro-surgical procedures in a confined operative area with less-than-ideal visibility and access, without the present, though generally accepted, physical difficulties and limitations.

Abstract: A high volume evacuator (HVE) device, for use in dental procedures, securely receives a threaded stem of a reusable dental mirror. The housing of the HVE device includes an axially-extending depression having a pair of parallel sidewalls, each of the sidewalls having a plurality of ribs oriented in a direction perpendicular to an axis of the housing. The ribs serve to retain threads of a threaded stem of a dental mirror. A passthrough opening is provided to permit the threaded stem of the dental mirror to pass from an interior of the housing of the HVE device into the axially-extending depression. The housing of the HVE device includes structural members that facilitate insertion of a dental mirror in a manner that direct the threaded stem toward and through the passthrough opening. The housing of the HVE device may also include intake holes to draw in aerosols other than through a mouth at a distal end of the HVE device.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a scanner head assembly, including: a scanner host and a scanner head. The scanner host includes a base section and an insertion head section forming an integral structure with the base section, and the insertion head section is provided with a switch. The scanner head includes a scanner head body. The scanner head body has a cylinder. The insertion head section is nested in the cylinder of the scanner head, and the switch is fitted with the scanner head to realize control of the scanner host. The technical solution of the disclosure effectively solves the problem that it is not convenient for the scanner head assembly in the art known to inventors to switch between scanning states when using different scanner heads.

Abstract: An intra-oral scanning and image data module comprises a housing having a distal and proximal end, a first aperture proximate to the distal end, and a second aperture proximate to the proximal end. The housing contains a first mirror angled at 45° relative to the first aperture and a second mirror angled at 45° relative to the second aperture. The first and second mirrors are angled relative to each other such that light entering the first aperture is redirected to exit the second aperture. A securement mechanism is connected to the housing, located proximate to the second aperture, and adapted to facilitate a connection of the scanning and image data module to a smart device. A light source is located proximate the distal end. Preferably, the light source is powered by the smart device and is connected to the housing. The module may further comprise an optical lens cartridge disposed within the housing and containing one or more lenses adapted to modify the optical properties of the light entering the first aperture.
