    摘要: A digital camera image controller apparatus for a mobile phone is disclosed, which uses a sensing module to collect optical signal of an image and produce RGB (red, green, blue) image signal from the optical signal, and an image controller to receive the RGB image signal and accordingly produce a preview signal of the image to an LCD module. Also, the image controller outputs compressed or non-compressed image signal to a baseband processor. In addition, the image controller includes chromatic aberration interpolator and an RGB-to-YUV converter provided by a typical camera module. Therefore, the inventive camera module can include a sensing module simply having lens and sensor, thus avoiding defects caused by using the typical camera module.

    摘要: A digital camera has a removable nonvolatile memory for storing compressed images. The camera is capable of performing advanced image processing, and has a second nonremovable nonvolatile memory for storing intermediate results of advanced processing. The intermediate results are saved upon the nonremovable, nonvolatile, memory periodically, upon detection of low battery, or both. If batteries are replaced or external power is connected, under some conditions the camera's image processing subsystem can restart advanced processing. When advanced processing is restarted, these saved intermediate results are used to save processing time by avoiding the need to repeat some previously performed portions of advanced processing. In an alternative embodiment, the camera is capable of storing intermediate results upon the removable nonvolatile memory also used for storing compressed images.

    摘要: An interface apparatus of an image processing system includes an image sensor sensing an image, an image processor processing the sensed image to output image data, and a sensor interface coupled between the image sensor and the image processor. The sensor interface includes a sensor type register storing information about the image sensor, a micom storing the information in the sensor type register to control the image sensor, and a sensor signal processor receiving signals corresponding to the sensed image from the image sensor, converting the signals into modified signals, which the image processor processes to output the image data, according to the information stored in the sensor type register, and transmitting the modified signals to the image processor. The interface apparatus used in the image processing system, such as a digital camera, adaptively correspond to the image sensor which is currently used in the image processing system and has one of different types of image sensors, according to the manufacturers and product models of the image sensors. The interface apparatus adaptively processes signals outputted from the image sensor, thereby avoiding any additional redesigning process of redesigning the image processor to correspond to the image sensor used in the image processing system, and reducing a manufacturing time and cost of the image processing system.

    摘要: Upon detection of the attachment of a recording medium, an image signal obtained by taking a picture and condition information representing a condition in which the picture is taken are read out form a memory in an image pickup apparatus and recorded on the recording medium. The apparatus is also arranged in such a manner that the condition information recorded on the recording medium may be transferred to the memory. With this arrangement, it becomes possible to process the image signal by using the condition information stored in the memory, even in a situation in which the recording medium is detached. Furthermore, it becomes possible to inherit the condition information even when the recording medium is exchanged.

In an image pickup apparatus (1), an additional lens set (G5) having a positive refractive power is positioned most adjacent the image side with respect to a zoom lens (2) for movement to and from a position on an optical axis of the zoom lens. Upon changeover of an image pickup mode, the additional lens set is moved to or away from the position on the optical axis to reduce or extend the focal length range of the zoom lens thereby to moderate the variation of the angle of view caused by a difference in dimension of the effective screen region of an image pickup element (12) when any different image pickup mode is selected. Further, the movement of the additional lens set to or from the position on the optical axis is detected to set the states of components in accordance with any image pickup mode.

    摘要: By flexibly coping with both image sensors of a CCD sensor and a CMOS sensor without providing any external circuit, a signal processing is performed. In a sensor selecting switch provided in an image-sensor signal-processing circuit, first and fourth switches are turned on when the CMOS sensor is connected, and second and third switches are turned on when the CCD sensor is connected. The sensor selecting switch is controlled by a control signal generated in a control circuit, based on sensor selection data which is stored in a register and which is data for selecting the CCD or CMOS sensor. By so doing, even if polarity of an output signal of the image sensor is reversed, a normal signal is inputted to both inputs of the CDS amplifier, whereby it is possible to flexibly cope with both of the CCD and CMOS sensors.

    摘要: In a CMOS image sensor, current leakage after a series of noise removing operations has been completed is suppressed in a read operation for each horizontal line, thereby suppressing image noise occurring on the output display screen of the image sensor. There are provided signal storage regions for storing the signals read from the unit cells in the same row selected in the imaging area onto vertical signal lines and horizontal select transistors for sequentially selecting and reading the signals stored in the individual signal storage regions and transferring them to read horizontal signal lines. At least in the period during which the signals are read from the signal storage regions, one of the drain and source of the transistor electrically connected to the signal path between the vertical signal line and horizontal signal line is biased in the reverse direction with respect to the substrate region. Two adjacent ones of the horizontal select transistors form a pair. The horizontal select transistors in each pair share one of the source/drain regions so as to be connected to the horizontal signal line in common, and the others of the source/drain regions are connected to the vertical signal line individually.
