Abstract: A shield system for an electric power transmission tower includes a plurality of panels configured to be secured to a cross-arm structure of the tower in adjacent, end-to-end arrangement so as to overlie insulators supported by the tower and prevent excrement from birds nesting and/or congregating on the tower from contacting and accumulating on the insulators. Each panel has opposite ends and opposite lateral edges extending between the opposite ends. A plurality of spaced-apart apertures are formed in each panel adjacent each of the lateral edges and at least one of the ends, and each aperture is configured to receive a respective fastener therethrough for securing the panel to the cross-arm structure. Each panel has a shape that generally conforms to a shape of a portion of the cross-arm structure to which the panel is secured.

Abstract: The invention relates to a contamination protection device for high-voltage insulators and an arrangement consisting of the contamination protection device and a high-voltage insulator. The contamination protection device for high-voltage insulators according to the invention is designed to be mounted on the insulator cap of the high-voltage insulator and comprises for this purpose a mounting region, which is designed to be interlockingly connected to the insulator cap and comprises a through-opening for the connecting element of the insulator cap. A protective shield is furthermore provided, which extends radially around the mounting region in order to cover the high-voltage insulator. The arrangement comprises a high-voltage insulator with an insulator cap and a contamination protection device disposed on the insulator cap, wherein the contamination protection device is designed according to the invention and is connected to the insulator cap by means of an interlocking connection.

Provided are also insulator and insulated support post using the flange. The flange, the insulator and insulated support post help to protect the inflation valve from external force and the groove is filled with the sealing material to ensure the sealing performance of the flange.

Abstract: High voltage insulators are disclosed, along with related methods of manufacture and use. The disclosed high voltage insulators include a core strength member joined to one or more end fittings and secured with one or more elastomeric members. A plastic body surrounds the core strength member, the elastomeric member, and at least a portion of the end fitting. In particular, the plastic body is molded over the elastomeric member(s) and, upon cooling, the plastic body exerts a radial compressive force on the underlying elastomeric member(s) to seal the joint of the high voltage insulator and protect it from moisture, even throughout temperature fluctuations in the field.
