    摘要: A customizable thin plate fuel form and reactor core therefor are disclosed. The thin plate fuel will comprise a fuel material embedded within a matrix material, with the entire unit having a coating. The thin plate fuel may be flat or curved and will have flow channels formed within at least the top surface of the fuel plate. The structure of the thin plate fuel will make it easier for coating with Tungsten or any other suitable material that will help contain any byproducts, prevent reactions with the working fluid, and potentially provide structural support to the thin plate fuel.

    摘要: A nuclear fuel element for a gas-cooled nuclear reactor of the thermal type comprises an outer region containing fertile material enclosing an inner region containing fissile plutonium. The inner region is disposed so as to be cooled by the reactor coolant. A plurality of fuel elements may be distributed in an interchangeable block which forms a reasonable part of a reactor core. The block defines channels through which reactor coolant is caused to flow so as to remove heat from the fissile plutonium.

    摘要: This invention provides a nuclear reactor design that can enable automated or semi-automated manufacturing of a small reactor in a mechanized factory. This is possible by following a layered approach to combine simple “plate” geometries with the use of diffusion bonding and computer aided manufacturing techniques that integrate all the fuel, axial reflectors, axial gamma and neutron shields, fuel gas plenum, heat removal mechanism, primary heat exchangers and moderator all in one block or component. The final assembled block has no welds and limits or eliminates manual operations. This design has the potential to reduce the fabrication time of an entire nuclear reactor to just a few days.

    摘要: A fuel assembly having a water cross or water rod arranged between the fuel rods, an inside of the water cross or water rod being divided into a coolant rising passage and a coolant lowering passage, and a control guide tube disposed inside the water cross or water rod and extending along an axial direction of the water cross or water rod. The coolant rising passage has a coolant inlet port formed to a portion above or under a portion at which the fuel rods are supported by the lower tie plate. The control element guide tube has a coolant outlet port formed at that portion so that a coolant introduced into the coolant rising passage flows vertically upwardly, then turns and flows downwardly along the control element guide tube, and flows into an inside thereof through the coolant outlet port. A reactor core comprises a plurality of fuel assemblies each having a structure described above, a control rod and a control element operated in association with the control rod.
