Abstract: Techniques for navigating interactive diagrams are provided. In one technique, a first content of an interactive diagram is presented in a content display area of a user interface. The interactive diagram also includes second content that is outside the content display area of the user interface. A boundary is identified that encapsulates the first content and the second content. While displaying a scrolling control on the user interface, first user input is received that causes a portion of the second content to be presented in the content display area and a portion of the first content to no longer be presented in the content display area. In response receiving second user input to view a portion of the interactive diagram that is outside the boundary, a visual appearance of one or more elements of the scrolling control is updated.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for presenting groups of information on a display are disclosed. System and methods include presenting the groups in the form of a page, each group of information having an associated size, wherein a cumulative size of all groups of information is larger than a dimension of the display; receiving an initial scrolling signal for causing the presented page to scroll; and augmenting the display with a scroll bar divided into sections of differing visual effects. Each section may have a visual effect that is assigned to one group of the plurality of groups of information. A length of each section may be proportional to the associated size of the one group relative to the cumulative size of all the groups, and an order of the visual effects in the scroll bar may correspond to an order of the groups of information in the page.

Abstract: A method is performed by an electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface. The method includes displaying a progress icon that indicates a current position within u first piece of content, displaying a multi-purpose content navigation icon; while providing the first piece of content: detecting a first contact at a first location that corresponds to the multi-purpose content navigation icon; while continuing to detect the contact at the first location, moving the current position within the first piece of content at a predefined scrubbing rate; and, in response to detecting movement of the contact that includes a first component of movement in a direction that corresponds to movement on the display parallel to the first predefined direction, moving the current position within the first piece of content at a variable scrubbing rate that varies monotonically as the first component of movement increases.

Abstract: A user request for a set of images is received via a graphical user interface, the subset of images having an initial order. A subset of neighboring images is selected, wherein the subset of neighboring images is ordered according to a first sequence. A first concordance value characterizing visual detectability of one or more illicit content features across images in the subset of neighboring images ordered according to the first sequence is computed. A second concordance value characterizing visual detectability of one or more illicit content features across images in the subset of neighboring images ordered according to a second sequence is computed. Responsive to a difference between the second concordance value and the first concordance value satisfying a predetermined condition, the subset of neighboring images is rearranged according to the second sequence. The previous steps are repeated for a plurality of additional subsets of neighboring images until each image of the set of images has been selected at least once as part of selected subsets of neighboring images to obtain a modified order of the set of images. The graphical user interface is caused to be modified to present the set of images on a grid according to the modified order.

Abstract: An electronic device, with a touch-sensitive surface, displays a respective control, which is associated with respective contact intensity criteria, used to determine whether or not a function associated with the respective control will be performed. The device detects a gesture on the touch-sensitive surface, corresponding to an interaction with the respective control. In accordance with a determination that the gesture does not include a contact that meets the respective contact intensity criteria, the device changes the appearance of the respective control to indicate progress toward meeting the respective contact intensity criteria that is used to determine whether or not a function associated with the respective control will be performed. In response to detecting activation of the control, the device performs the function associated with the respective control in accordance with the detected gesture including a contact that meets the respective contact intensity criteria.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling a scrolling function in a touchscreen display defines a touch sensitive region for the scrollbar. When the touch sensitive region receives a press-and-hold input, the system renders large directional inputs for the corresponding window/list selection window and enters a persistent state wherein the directional inputs supersede the scrolling function. The scrollbar input may be deactivated during the persistent state. The persistent state is exited when the user makes a selection outside the directional inputs. The system may define press-and-hold touch sensitive regions larger than the touch sensitive region for the scrollbar generally. The larger press-and-hold regions may be associated with, and extend beyond, a currently active window/dialog box.
