摘要: A system for processing circuit card events includes a circuit board having a first connector and a second connector. The circuit board generates connector information indicating whether a first circuit card is coupled to the first connector and whether a second circuit card is coupled to the second connector. A memory stores a plurality of software modules and a first state of the circuit board. A processor coupled to the circuit board and the memory determines a second state of the circuit board based upon the connector information. The processor further selects at least one software module for execution based upon the first state and the second state of the circuit board.

摘要: The operation of a fossil-fueled thermal system is quantified by obtaining an unusually accurate boiler efficiency. Such a boiler efficiency is dependent on the calorimetric temperature at which the fuel's heating value is determined. This dependency affects the major thermodynamic terms comprising boiler efficiency.

摘要: An electrical power control system is adapted for controlling power and lighting in a building. Switch controls have either relays or triacs, controlled by microprocessors, to switch power on electrical branch circuits. An interface device 122 communicates with the switches 124,126, arranged in a multidrop configuration, with variable length data packets over serial branch circuits or data buses 142. In addition to being controlled by the interface device 122, the switch controls also have local switch actuators. The actuation of the local switch controls can be used by the interface device 122 as a control inputs to initiate other actions. Adaptive polling of switch controls is used to minimize system response time, and both transmit and receive signals are carried between the switch controls and the interface device 122 at different times on the same twisted pair wires. The interface device 122 can also communicate with a home automation system controller.

摘要: A method for calculating density maps in hierarchical designs includes the steps of deoverlapping objects in the design, providing an area of interest in the design, generating a grid in the area of interest to partition the area of interest into grid elements, determining whether the local properties of each object within the grid elements have been previously calculated, if previously calculated, adding the previously calculated value for the local properties to a corresponding grid element, otherwise, calculating the local properties of the object and summing the local properties of the objects for each associated grid element such that the local properties are calculated only once for a given object throughout the design. A system is also includes for implementing the method.

摘要: A simple single- or multi-station sprinkler controller is set to various run times and watering intervals by the repetitive operation of pushbuttons or combinations of pushbuttons. The chosen settings are communicated to the operator by illumination patterns of LEDs. The patterns may include groups of flashes, sequential scrolling of LEDs, multicolored illumination of an LED, and steady illumination or non-illumination of selected LEDs. If a short occurs in a station, the controller shuts itself off and flashes a pattern that signals a shorted condition and identifies the shorted station. On power-up, run times and intervals are automatically set to generally-usefll default values.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of displaying a shape of a material and a shape of a product for a speedy machining simulation. In the machining simulation wherein the shape of the material, the shape of the product, and a shape of a tool are displayed as images on a display unit, and portions of the image of the material and the image of the product overlapping the image of the tool are successively eliminated, the shape of the product in accordance with a portion to be machined is displayed as a line image indicating only an outline of the product, on the other hand, the shape of the material is displayed as a plane image indicating an area in correspondence with a machining allowance, in case that the material includes the portion to be machined which is formed by adding the specified machining allowance to the outline of the product. Therefore, a data input in relation to the shape of the material can be simplified, whereby the speedy machining simulation is enabled.

摘要: A dissolution sampling apparatus which automatically extracts aliquots which contain a dissolved drug in solution from a plurality of dissolution containing flasks and tests each aliquot for the amount of drug dissolved within the aliquot. The sampling apparatus can resupply the removed aliquot. back to its source or the aliquot can be discarded as waste with new media being resupplied to the source. A syringe is used to remove the aliquots. A mechanically operated valve could be used with each syringe or a plurality of solenoids instead of the mechanically operated valve.
