Abstract:
A developing cartridge includes a casing, a developer-carrying member, a supply member, a developing electrode, a supply electrode, and an insulating member. The casing is configured to accommodate therein developer. The developer-carrying member is configured to rotate about a rotational axis and carry the developer thereon. The supply member is configured to supply the developer to the developer-carrying member. The developing electrode is configured to be electrically connected to the developer-carrying member. The supply electrode is configured to be electrically connected to the supply member. The insulating member insulates the developing electrode and the supply electrode with each other. The developing electrode, the insulating member, and the supply electrode are overlapped in this order in an axial direction of the rotational axis.
Abstract:
An electrophotographic photosensitive member that can not easily cause charging lines even where it is an electrophotographic photosensitive member employing as a conductive layer a layer containing metal oxide particles is disclosed. Also disclosed are a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus which have such an electrophotographic photosensitive member. The electrophotographic photosensitive member has a conductive layer which contains titanium oxide particles coated with tin oxide doped with phosphorus or tungsten.
Abstract:
A conductive layer contains a binder material, a first particle, and a second particle. The first particle is composed of a core particle and aluminum-doped zinc oxide covering the core particle or is composed of a core particle and oxygen-deficient zinc oxide covering the core particle. The second particle is of the same material as that of the core particle of the first particle. The content of the first particle is 20% by volume or more and 50% by volume or less of the total volume of the conductive layer. The content of the second particle is 0.1% by volume or more and 15% by volume or less of the total volume of the conductive layer and is 0.5% by volume or more and 30% by volume or less of the volume of the first particle.
Abstract:
A surface layer of the electrophotographic photosensitive member has a change region in which a ratio of the number of carbon atoms with respect to the sum of the number of silicon atoms and the number of carbon atoms gradually increases toward a surface side of the electrophotographic photosensitive member from a photoconductive layer side, wherein the change region has an upper charge injection prohibiting portion containing a Group 13 atom, and a surface-side portion which is positioned closer to the surface side of the electrophotographic photosensitive member than the upper charge injection prohibiting portion and does not contain the Group 13 atom, and the distribution of the Group 13 atom in a boundary portion between the surface-side portion and the upper charge injection prohibiting portion is precipitous.
Abstract:
A positively chargeable electrophotographic photosensitive member has a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer at least includes the following layers layered in the stated order: (I) a charge transport layer at least containing a hole transport material and a binder resin; and (II) a charge generating-and-transporting layer at least containing a charge generating material, an electron transport material, a hole transport material, and a binder resin all within this layer. The binder resin contained in the charge transport layer is different from the binder resin contained in the charge generating-and-transporting layer, and either of the binder resins contains a polyvinyl acetal resin.

Abstract:
A negatively-chargeable electrophotographic photosensitive member, has, between a cylindrical substrate and a photoconductive layer, a first lower-part layer formed of a non-single crystal material containing silicon atoms and a second lower-part layer formed of a non-single crystal material containing silicon atoms, and on its photoconductive layer has an upper-part layer formed of a non-single crystal material containing silicon atoms. The first lower-part layer is a layer containing a periodic-table Group 13 element, and the upper-part layer has a region capable of retaining electrification charges.
Abstract:
A photoconductor containing a thiophosphate photogenerating layer, and at least one charge transport layer, and a top polymeric overcoating layer in contact with and contiguous to a charge transport layer.
Abstract:
An electrophotographic apparatus comprises a photosensitive member, exposing means, and cleaning means for cleaning a residual developer from the photosensitive member, which comprises a cleaning brush brought into contact with the photosensitive member. In this case, a brush density of the cleaning brush is D (number/mm2), and an area of a pixel of an electrostatic image is S (mm2/dot), and D×S≧0.06 and D≦200 are satisfied. Thus, an image forming apparatus is provided, in which cleaning stability is improved by uniformly scraping off and dispersing the transfer residual developer from the photosensitive member.
Abstract:
