摘要： A holder for wide magnetic recording tape has a frame with four generally rectangular sides and an open top and an open bottom, with a frame height extending between the open top and the open bottom. Magnetic recording tape is wound in tape packs respectively on two hubs that are rotatably mounted between opposite sides of the frame. Because of the open structure of the frame, during a write/read operation the tape pack on one of the hubs can have a diameter which exceeds the height of the frame, thereby allowing substantially all of the magnetic recording tape to be wound on one of the hubs, if necessary.

摘要： A roll photo film includes a spool which has a cylindrical core. A light-shielding sheet has a front end portion and a rear end portion. The front end portion is secured to the core. A first end of a photo filmstrip is secured to one securing position on the light-shielding sheet. The photo filmstrip is wound about the core in a roll form with the light-shielding sheet. A roll photo film producing apparatus includes a punch/die set, which has a trimming punch and a trimming die, and trims the rear end portion with a reduced width. A hole-forming punch and a hole-forming die are incorporated in the punch/die set, and cut a retaining hole through the rear end portion in a simultaneous manner with trimming of the rear end portion.

摘要： A tape cartridge has a front face sized for compatibility with an industry standard tape drive, and has sides longer than the sides of some industry standard cartridges. The sides and top of the housing extend outwardly in width to form a back portion of the cartridge that is wider than the front portion and prevent the cartridge from being inserted into non-compatible tape drives. Two large diameter tape hubs improve the empty hub to full pack diameter ratios, and improve the resulting tangential drive force and tape tension profiles as the tape moves between the hubs. Flanges are permanently bonded to the hubs to prevent the tape packs from shifting and a spring biases the hubs against the baseplate. A back set of rollers includes a high-drag roller that engages the drive belt at a fixed wrap angle and produces a relatively constant drag. A front set of rollers includes a drive roller and has rollers mounted to form substantially equal geometries with rollers in the back set respective to the tape hubs. The constant wrap angle of the high-drag roller tends to outweigh varying drags from other rollers, causing less change in tape tension and tangential drive force as the tape is transferred from hub to hub. A door covers the capstan and media access openings in the front face of the cartridge when the cartridge is outside of a tape drive. A write protect arm is pivotally mounted at the front face of the cartridge.

摘要： A photo film cassette has a spool core about which photo film is wound in a form of a roll. A cassette shell contains the spool core in a rotatable manner. Two flanges have a disk shape, and are secured to respective ends of the spool core, for regulating lateral edges of the roll of the photo film. A circumferential lip is disposed on each flange, is extended toward the opposite one of the flanges, wraps one of the lateral edges of an outermost turn of the photo film of the roll, and prevents the photo film from being loosened. A rim portion is disposed on an circular edge of the circumferential lip confronted with the opposite one of the flanges, to project with a bend away from the spool core. A contact face is disposed on the rim portion, and contacts the one of the lateral edges of the photo film when the photo film is unwound from the spool core or wound back about the spool core. The contact face has a contact range of 0.15-0.8 mm in contacting the one of the lateral edges of the photo film.
