Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a lens cap with an integrated iris that screws onto a camera lens. Once secured on a camera lens, the iris may be opened by rotating an outer edge of the lens cap in a first direction. When in an open position, the entire surface of the camera lens is free from obstruction and photos may be taken as if the lens cap were not even there. The iris can literally disappear within an edge of circular lens cap. By rotating the lens cap in an opposite direction, the lens may be completely covered by the integrated iris again. For example, the iris may be opened by rotating the lens cap in a clockwise direction and then closed again by rotating the lens cap in a counter clockwise direction. Once installed, this lens cap never has to be removed.

Abstract: A removable power pack for a camera is disclosed comprising a battery module and a data storage module housed in a common casing to form an integrated unit, wherein the casing exposes one or more electrical connectors for transmitting power and data between the power pack and a camera that receives the power pack. A waterproof camera is also disclosed comprising a camera body and a removable power pack installed in or on the body, the removable power pack including one or more electrical connectors for transmitting power to the camera once installed, and a sealing interface arranged between the camera and the power pack to prevent moisture from reaching the one or more electrical connectors.

Abstract: A sliding cover structure and an electronic apparatus are disclosed. The sliding cover structure is used for covering a lens, and includes a base, a first cover, a second cover and a swing part. The first cover slides forwards and backwards on the base, and slides between an opening position that does not cover the lens and a closing position that covers the lens. The second cover moves upwards and downwards on the base. The swing part is pivoted with the base and has a first contact end and a second contact end. The pivoting position of the swing part and the base is located between the first contact end and the second contact end so that the swing part can perform a seesaw operation. The first contact end is located below the second cover so that the first contact end drives the second cover to move upwards.

Abstract: A camera is adapted for self photography by provision of a reflective element disposed over a image receiving means thereof. The reflective element is disposed along or proximate to the focal axis of the image receiving portion for avoiding a parallax effect such that a camera operator may accurately monitor the image during self photography. Several variations on the arrangement of the reflective element allow various photographic effects to be obtained and in addition, the arrangement of the invention may also by applied for effecting audio/visual communication.

Abstract: A camera is configured for use with a removable camera lens cover, which can be secured to or removed from the camera by a user without the use of a tool set. The mechanism which allows the lens cover to be secured to and removed from the camera includes a set of wires embedded into the lens cover and a set of wedges protruding from the lens wall of the camera. To secure the lens cover to the camera, the lens cover is placed onto the front of the camera and rotated until the wires align with corresponding wedges, securing the wires underneath the tapered surface of the wedges. To remove the lens cover from the camera, a force is applied outward and normal to the lens cover, causing the wires to flex outward and enabling the rotation and removal of the lens cover from the camera.

Abstract: An apparatus and method to generate intrinsic images without barrier filters and dichroic mirrors is provided. The method involves acquisition of an image of a focused field of view and a diffused image of the same field of view. The diffused image is obtained by placing a translucent material in the path between a camera and the field of view. The translucent material permits transmission of the illumination energy while diffusing the spatial details of the field of view, thus producing a featureless image of illumination intensities. The focused and diffused images are then processed pixel-by-pixel by to generate intrinsic images free of irrelevant illumination.

Abstract: This application describes techniques for controlling an apparatus that includes a camera both locally and remotely. The camera apparatuses described herein may include obfuscation components that function to selectively obfuscate a view of the camera at the request of a user. For instance, one particular camera apparatus may include a lens cap and an actuator to move the lens cap from a position in which the lens cap at least partially obfuscates the view of the camera to a position in which the lens cap does not (and vice versa). The camera apparatus may include a physical control to allow a user to locally request to open or close the lens cap, and may also include a network interface to communicate with a user device, thus allowing a user to remotely request to open or close the lens cap.
