摘要: A motion picture film platter assembly having a base, an upright oriented post and at least three vertically spaced support arms. A hub-shaped case is supported on the top surface of each of these support arms. A cylindrical platter having a central bore hole is journaled on an external annular flange of the hub-shaped case and the upper cylindrical wall of the hub-shaped case passes through the bore hole of the circular platter. Each platter has its own drive motor for rotating it. A modular film feed-out unit is removably positioned in the bore hole of one of the circular platters. The film feed-out unit has a top plate and mounted at predetermined positions thereon are a pair of 35 mm or 70 mm film idler rollers and an upright oriented film proximity sensor that is laterally spaced from an upright oriented first keeper roller. A reel of film mounted on the top surface of the circular platter has its front end threaded between the film proximity sensor and the first keeper roller and then around the first and second 35 mm film idler rollers after which the film strip travels to the movie projector. The motors are electrically connected to their respective film proximity sensors so that as the surface of the film strip approaches the film proximity sensor, the motor increases the rotation of its circular platter and when the surface of the film strip travels away from the film proximity sensor the motor rotates the circular platter slower.

摘要: A bi-directional film transport device includes an upper and lower plate member having a separation gap between a first and second pair of drive rollers, the bytes of which are positioned adjacent the gap. A single drive motor is rigidly rotationally coupled to drive the first and second pair of drive rollers and the plate members function to eliminate the tendency of the film to buckle, which in turn maintains the film in the proper plane of focus. As a result of this simple arrangement, complex clutch mechanisms which are otherwise employed to maintain tension during bi-directional operation have been eliminated. Side walls coupled between the plates parallel to the path of film travel prevent skewing of the film driven by the short low inertia high speed drive rollers.

摘要: Slippage of a wide film engaged by a driving capstan is prevented by resiliently urging a pair of rollers mounted in a free floating yoke structure against the drive capstan. The yoke structure is guided by a frame means which also includes cam means for effecting the urging of the yoke structure. A lever element terminating in a hook is arranged to engage a bearing on the free end of the capstan to stabilize the same when the pressure rollers are in engagement with the capstan.

摘要: A transmission device has holding slots provided in a boss portion thereof for holding engaging elements. A drive shaft has engaging recesses provided in an outer surface thereof for accepting partially the engaging elements to engage the transmission device with the drive shaft. The engaging elements remain urged against the engaging recesses of the drive shaft by a resilient member which is disposed radially of a boss portion of the transmission device for maintaining the engagement of the transmission device with the drive shaft. When the transmission device is overloaded, the engaging elements depart from the engaging recesses in the drive shaft, against the urging force of the resilient member, to cancel the transmission of torque from the drive shaft to the transmission device.

摘要: A web supply and take-up system in which the web is transported from a supply reel to a take-up reel by means of a capstan and pressure roller. The take-up reel is driven to wind up the transported web. The improvement comprises a roller mounted for restricted rotation and placed between the supply and take-up reels in frictional engagement with the web. The roller supplies a counter force to the take-up reel drive force which assists the capstan and pressure roller in stopping undesired web movement.

摘要: In a sound recording portion of a sound motion picture camera, a film strip is continuously advanced by a capstan and a pinch roller. The pinch roller is movable between its retracted position where it is spaced apart from the capstan and its operative position where it is pressed against the capstan to pinch the film strip therebetween. The pinch roller is supported on a pivotable member which is capable of pivoting from a first position in which it holds the pinch roller in the retracted position to a second position in which it holds the pinch roller in the operative position. The pivotable member is moved between the two positions driven by a reciprocating plate member which is moved back and forth in translational movement by an electric motor through a cam mechanism. The electric motor is energized in response to depression of the shutter button of the camera and deenergized when the pivotable member is pivoted to its second position. The electric motor is again energized when the shutter button is set free and kept energized until the reciprocating plate member is returned to its initial position where the pivotable member is positioned in its first position.
