摘要: A micro-optic fiber device is provided with independent counter-bore tubes and coupling tubes served as couplers for coupling the optical processing elements, micro lenses and the fiber pigtails. The micro-optic fiber device can be built using direct coupling manner. Wherein the optical processing element is firstly inserted in the step groove of the counter-bore tube using bonding agent, and then coupled with the coupling tubes, such as to prevent the bonding agent from diffusing and spreading over the optical path of the optical processing element as well as the micro lenses.

摘要: A light transmission system includes a laser, an optical fiber, and a transfer lens. The transfer lens transfers light emitted by the laser into the optical fiber. The transfer lens includes a diffractive surface for receiving and collimating the light originating form the laser. The diffractive surface is defined by a surface function that includes a first phase function having angular symmetry and a second phase function having radial symmetry. The second phase function includes a cusp region with a discontinuous slope therein. The transfer lens provides reflection management so that light reflected from the end of the optical fiber is not focused at a location at which light is emitted by the laser and also favorable launch conditions so that light launched into the optical fiber avoids index anomalies along the axis of the optical fiber.

摘要: An optical assembly incorporates a compact and efficient lens for coupling a beam of light from an optical device to an optical fiber. The lens includes a curved reflecting surface and a focusing surface. The lens is positioned to receive and internally reflect the beam of light from the optical device toward the focusing surface. The focusing surface in turn focuses the reflected beam into the end of an optical fiber. The curved surface may include a reflective coating for transmitting a portion of the beam toward a monitoring unit which is used to monitor a parameter of the beam. The optical assembly may further include a platform for supporting the optical device, the lens, the optical fiber and the monitoring unit.

摘要: An array of micro-optical components includes at least two micro-optical components. Each micro-optical component includes a refractive surface and a corresponding compensation surface for the refractive surface. The corresponding compensation surface includes a corresponding compensation feature when the refractive surface deviates from a desired optical performance. The micro-optical component provides the desired optical performance. At least two refractive surfaces of the array of micro-optical components are formed to have substantially a same desired optical performance. The array of micro-optical components includes at least one corresponding compensation feature, at least two compensation surfaces of the array of micro-optical components being different from one another. The compensation surface may be created after measuring the refractive surface.

摘要: An optical module has first and second optical parts. Each of the optical parts has an optical path extending in a longitudinal direction and an end face intersecting the optical path. The end face of the first optical part faces the end face of the second optical part. Light enters the end face of the second optical part from the end face of the first optical part. An adhesive forms a joint for connecting the end faces of the parts to each other in peripheral portions about the optical paths of the parts.
