    摘要: A fiber grating pressure sensor includes an optical sensing element which includes an optical fiber having a Bragg grating impressed therein which is encased within and fused to at least a portion of a glass capillary tube and/or a large diameter waveguide grating having a core and a wide cladding. Light is incident on the grating and light is reflected from the grating at a reflection wavelength null1. The sensing element may be used by itself as a sensor or located within a housing. When external pressure P increases, the grating is compressed and the reflection wavelength null1 changes. The shape of the sensing element may have other geometries, e.g., a nulldogbonenull shape, so as to enhance the sensitivity of shift in null1 due to applied external pressure and may be fused to an outer shell.

A digital displacement sensor senses the position of the magnet. The digital displacement sensor is in communication with an electronic indicator.     摘要: A pressure sensor includes a pair of base films, a pair of electrodes, a layer of pressure-sensitive resistor, a spacer, and a projection. The electrodes are located between the base films. The layer of pressure-sensitive resistor is located between the base films to be distant from one of the electrodes by a predetermined gap. The spacer is located outside the layer of pressure-sensitive resistor between the base films and used for forming the gap. The projection is located on an outer surface of one of the base films in order to decrease the lowest pressure that can be detected by the pressure sensor.     摘要: A pressure transducer has an output characterized by two or more slopes. A pressure transducer generates an first output signal that may be linearly proportional to the sensed pressure. The pressure transducer includes an electrical circuit that shapes the first output signal to produce a shaped output signal that according to a first function of the first output signal when the first output signal is less than the first value and according to a second function of the first output signal when the first output signal is greater than a second value. Preferably, the shaped output signal is a dual slope signal such that the shaped output signal has a first linear portion characterized by a first slope and a second linear portion characterized by a second slope. The two linear portions of the shaped output signal may intersect at a knee point which corresponds to a pressure between two preferred desired pressure ranges. Preferably, the knee point corresponds to a sensed pressure that is approximately 10 percent of the maximum pressure sensed by the device. The higher slope may correspond to lower measured pressures and the lower slope may correspond to higher measured pressures. Preferably, the higher slope is high enough that even in low output voltage ranges, the shaped output signal can be resolved by an analog-to-digital converter to a desired degree of precision. Preferably, the total range of the output voltage is the same as the total range of the first output voltage.

    摘要: An output device for a pressure transducer incorporates a cable connector and an electronic display. Both may be selectably positioned relative to the pressure transducer. In one aspect of the invention, the electronic display is rotatable around an axis perpendicular to the plane of the display. In another aspect of the invention, the cable connector is positioned by adjusting the connection of the output device relative to the pressure transducer. In some embodiments, the adjustability of the output device is provided through a bayonet connection between the output device and the pressure transducer. The adjustments to position of the display and of the cable connector may be performed without the use of tools. An output device constructed in accordance with the present invention may be field-configured in a multitude of ways, largely eliminating the need for the preselection of particular output devices for particular installations.
