Abstract: A combined tactical breaching device and flash suppressor comprising a cylindrical body portion having a longitudinal central smoothbore, the body portion being threaded at one end thereof for threadedly engaging the muzzle of a firearm barrel, a pair of longitudinally extending diametrically opposed furcations formed in the other end of the body portion by a pair of diametrically opposed slots formed in the body portion and extending from the other end toward the first end, the slots being of a length and width such that when the other end is placed against a target and in contact therewith, frangible ammunition may be discharged through said device for breaching the target; also disclosed is a method for breeching a barrier such as a door, dead bolt locks and 1/4 inch steel plate, where applicable.

Abstract: A safety device for guns such as gas operated shotguns having interchangeable barrels. The barrels may be chambered for different-sized cartridges or shells, such as 23/4 inch shells or 3 inch shells. It would be unsafe to load a 3 inch shell into a barrel chambered for 23/4 inch shells. The invention is a safety block or lug which is fitted to the barrel chambered for the smaller size cartridge, the block having a position such that it is not possible to load the larger size cartridge into the gun.

Abstract: A hand gun and a shot-type ammunition cartridge which provides a linear shot pattern. The gun includes a barrel which is pivotally mounted to the gun frame to fold the barrel against the frame for easy storage or for concealment under clothing. The barrel has a specially shaped bore which is oblong in cross section and a fanshaped muzzle to provide a planar field of fire when a shot-type gun shell is employed. A shell having a special configuration conforming to the shape of the bore cooperates with the barrel in developing an even distribution of shot in a linear shot pattern.

Abstract: An underwater impact actuated gun comprising a pole member used as a handle for thrusting against a fish to be shot and having a comparatively short gun barrel at the striking end. A weighted firing pin slidably arranged behind the cartridge by a compression spring is carried forward by its momentum upon striking a fish with the muzzle of the gun to fire the cartridge. The barrel is slightly tapered just in front of the cartridge slug, convergently in the direction of the muzzle end, to effect deformation of the slug to a diameter less than its original diameter, thereby minimizing blow-by to appreciably increase breech pressure and heat for more efficient burning of the explosive. The barrel is peripherally vented at its muzzle end in such a way as to permit escape of the water in the barrel, thereby minimizing its retardation of the slug as it is projected, while at the same time providing reactive forces minimizing recoil.

Abstract: A quick disconnect clamping assembly for releaseably attaching an accessory such as a bipod to an elongate support such as a picatinny-style mounting rail comprises a clamp body with a mounting yoke that is adapted to slide over and receive the picatinny rail. The yoke includes a substantially rectangular base plate defining the central upper surface of a clamp body and includes a pair of parallel sidewalls extending upwardly therefrom. The base plate has, in one embodiment, first and second transverse bores for first and second substantially rectangular upwardly movable bolts actuable to project upwardly from the yoke base plate. Abstract: An insert sleeve for use in the firing system of a muzzle loading gun wherein the insert sleeve has a bore operably connecting the atmosphere to the bore of the gun barrel and having a conventional firing member operatively associated with the outer end of such insert sleeve. Abstract: An automatic pistol is constructed with a more or less conventional frame and more or less conventional barrel detachably mounted to the frame. The frame and barrel have interfitting portions in cooperative engagement to support the barrel in longitudinal alignment on the frame. The frame is provided with a seating surface for the bottom of the barrel, an abutment surface against which the breech end of the barrel abuts, and a well, forward of the abutment surface, into which a barrel block loosely fits. The barrel block is attached to depend from the barrel. A longitudinal bore through the barrel block partially registers with a corresponding threaded bore through the frame forward of the barrel block. The forward opening of the bore in the barrel block is countersunk, and the axis of this bore is slightly above the axis of the threaded bore with respect to the axis of the barrel. A screw with a tapered end is threaded through the threaded bore to engage the barrel block bore, thereby urging the barrel down onto the seating surfaces and back toward the abutment surface of the frame.
