    Abstract: This invention relates to a butterfly valve, which includes at least a valve body, a valve shaft, a seal member and a valve plate. Said valve body is provided with a first valve shaft hole, and a through hole is provided in the middle position of said valve body. A positioning ring is provided on the upper periphery of said valve shaft, said valve shaft is composed of an upper section, a middle section and a lower section, said upper section and lower section are cylindrical structures, and said middle section is a non-cylindrical structure; the outer diameter of said positioning ring is larger than the outer diameter of said upper section, a sliding washer is mounted on said valve shaft, and said sliding washer is arranged between the groove of said valve body and the positioning ring of said valve shaft; a fastening recess is provided below the lower section of said valve shaft, and a C-shaped buckle is mounted on said fastening recess. said seal member is provided with a second valve shaft hole, the inner side of said second valve shaft hole is provided with at least one annular flange; the inner side of said seal member is provided with a counterbore at the position of said second valve shaft hole, said counterbore is provided with a resistance-reducing element. Said valve plate is provided with a third valve shaft hole, and the shape of said third valve shaft hole corresponds to the shape of said middle section of said valve shaft.

    Abstract: A butterfly valve includes a purge gas flow path supplying a purge gas for preventing inflow of a control fluid into a magnetic fluid sealing portion from a flow path through an insertion hole. The purge gas flow path is provided with an opening and closing valve for opening and closing the purge gas flow path and a pressure gauge for measuring a pressure value in the purge gas flow path, in the stated order from the upstream side. The purge gas flow path is connected to a portion between the magnetic fluid sealing portion and the flow path of the butterfly valve on the downstream side of the pressure gauge, and communicates with the flow path through the insertion hole. The butterfly valve further includes a control device that controls at least the opening and closing valve. The control device is provided with a monitoring program for monitoring a pressure value.

    Abstract: A seal for a butterfly valve includes an end cap with an outer tubular side wall surrounding an inner tubular side wall, both extending in the same direction providing a gap therebetween. At least the inner side wall is made from a resiliently deformable material. The end cap abuts a conduit entrance, and the inner and outer side walls extend therein, the outer side wall abutting an inner surface of the entrance of the conduit. A rotatable pivotal disk mounted inside the inner side wall within the entrance is rotatable between a position where the periphery of the disk engages the inner side wall to seal the entrance and a position where the disk is angled relative to the entrance, opening the entrance so a fluid may pass through the conduit. A butterfly valve assembly and a vacuum cleaner including the seal or the assembly are also disclosed.

    Abstract: Technologies are generally described for valve assemblies that include a valve body whose inner wall defines two ports and a controllable flow path that extends along the inner wall between the two ports of the valve body. Each port may be fitted with a corresponding gasket. A rotatable member disposed in the controllable flow path of the valve body may include a hemispherical-shaped body with a substantially flat disk-shaped surface portion, and a seal ridge formed about a perimeter of the substantially flat disk-shaped surface portion. During opening and closing operation, the seal ridge may be selectively engaged with either one of the gaskets reducing an initial contact surface, and thereby reducing friction between the rotatable member and the gaskets.

    Abstract: A valve and coupling for joining pipe elements has a valve body captured in a central space defined by a plurality of coupling segments attached to one another end to end. The inner surface of the valve body defines a bore. A liner on the inner surface surrounds the bore and forms a seal with a valve closing member. Circumferentially arranged projections on the segments engage and center the valve body within the central space. The liner has lobes that extend axially in opposite directions. The lobes are compressed between the segments and the pipe elements to form a fluid tight seal when connection members are tightened to draw the segments toward the central space and into engagement with the pipe elements.
