Abstract: A sealing device is configured to seal a clearance between a housing and a shaft of a hydraulic cylinder. The sealing device includes an annular packing that is disposed within the clearance and comprises an elastic material, and a back-up ring that is in contact with the packing. The back-up ring has a contact surface that is in contact with the shaft, and a portion including at least the contact surface of the back-up ring comprises a resin composition that includes a base material and a filler material. The base material comprises a polyamide resin, and the filler material comprises a polyolefin resin that is compatible with the polyamide resin.

Abstract: A shaft sealing kit for a sealing gap is formed between a shaft and a machine part engaging around the shaft. A foam ring of an elastically deformable foam material can be arranged in the sealing gap to be sealed off. The shaft sealing kit also has a kneading ring, which can be arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on the shaft and has a main body away from which there at least one cam extends which cam serves for locally compressing the foam material of the foam ring in the assembled state of the shaft sealing kit. A shaft arrangement can include a shaft sealing kit or a plurality of such shaft sealing kits.

Abstract: A pressure-tight stein cylinder seal and a self-energizing stein shoulder seal matching the stein cylinder seal that both use an equilaterally triangular soft ring as their sealing element, wherein their designing rules are first, by means of wedging function of a hard gland coaxial with the stein cylinder, to convert their original axial tightening force 2f respectively into a radial compression force 4f/√3 of their soft ring 04 on the stein 02 cylinder and another radial compression force 2f of their soft ring 06 on the stein 02 shoulder and ensure that the two soft rings are so compressed from a great room to a small room as to be able to pass a pressure or stress exactly to each different direction, then to cut off their off-stein corners to give their cavities an opening or give each soft ring an axial compressing allowance, and last, by means of anti-extrusion metallic C-rings without axial resistance, to close each opening to provide a full support for the sealing deformation of their soft rings compressed in their cavities.

Abstract: A sealing member according to the present invention is a sealing member against a synthetic oil containing an ester-type additive, and includes 95.0% by mass or more and 99.5% by mass or less of a para-phenylene diisocyanate-based polyurethane and 0.5% by mass or more and 5% by mass or less of a same compound as the ester-based additive. The sealing member according to the present invention has a smaller friction coefficient and more excellent deformability than conventional sealing members and that can inhibit swelling caused by a synthetic oil.

Abstract: A large-gap-seal (“LGS”) assembly and methods for its assembly and use are described. The LGS assembly has an elastomer core surrounded by adjoining structural segments. Non-adjoining gap segments are located on the sidewall surfaces of the elastomer core, with each gap segment approximately centered beneath the edges of two adjoining structural segments. The gap segments are exposed by the spaces that form between the structural segments when the LGS assembly is activated. Exposing the gap segments rather than the elastomer core protects the elastomer core from damage and preserves the integrity of the seal between the isolation tool and the inner wall of the pipeline.
