    摘要: In a hollow wave gear device, a rigid internally toothed gear and a wave generator are disposed adjacent along a center axis line so as to enclose a cylindrical barrel part of a flexible externally toothed gear from the outside. A pushed cylindrical portion adjacent to an external-tooth-formed cylindrical portion of the cylindrical barrel part is pushed from the outside and made to flex into an ellipsoidal shape by the wave generator disposed on the outside thereof, whereby external teeth partially mesh with internal teeth of the rigid internally toothed gear. The inside diameter dimension of a hollow part can be the inside diameter of the cylindrical barrel part of the flexible externally toothed gear, and a hollow wave gear device can be achieved which is formed with a hollow part having a large inside diameter.

    摘要: A gyroscopic device is described for providing rotation about at least one output axis and a method for providing rotation. A body (2) is mounted for a rotation about first (4), second (11), and third (16) axes. The first axis (4) is oriented with respect to the second axis (11) at an inclination angle. The second axis (11) and/or the third axis (16) constitute the at least one output axis of device. The rotation of the body (2) about the third axis (16) gives rise to a change in the inclination angle. A ram (15) applies a torque (21) to the body (2) about the third axis (16) in a sense of increasing inclination angle when the first axis (4) is at a selected inclination angle with respect to the second axis (11) which is greater than 0° and less than 90°. The rotation of the body (2) about the third axis (16) in a sense of decreasing inclination angle is limited such that the inclination angle of the first axis (4) with respect to the second axis (11) remains greater than 0 degrees and less than 90 degrees. The body (2) is rotated about the first axis (4) at an angular velocity greater than a critical angular velocity so that a constant or a decreasing inclination angle is reached.

A second unbalance shaft pair with oppositely rotating unbalance shafts is arranged adjacent to a first unbalance shaft pair as a tipping moment compensation device. Diagonally opposite unbalance shafts rotate in the same direction. In this way, centrifugal forces and torques on the two unbalance shaft pairs reciprocally cancel each other out so that no tipping moment occurs parallel to the axes of rotation of the unbalances.

    摘要: A mechanism is disclosed for transforming reciprocating/rotating motion in which the reciprocating member is continuously rotated unidirectionally so as to perform 360 degrees of rotation over the course of each cycle of reciprocity, into any number of simultaneous arcuate motions intersecting at predetermined angles. This mechanism comprises a ball rotatably mounted by a supporting element and centered on a line which is perpendicular to the path of excursion of the reciprocating member at the midpoint of the excursion, which line coincides with the axis of rotation of the reciprocating member at the midpoint position, and a linkage(s) provided to transfer the motions of the reciprocating/rotating member(s) to the ball. Points on the surface of the ball are thereby made to exhibit an infinite number of arcs which intersect a common point at an infinite number of angles. Any number of arcs intersecting at any angle can be obtained by selecting points on the surface of the ball exhibiting those desired vectors. This motion conversion apparatus is the basis for improvements in a variety of existing devices including but not limited to grinders, mixers, pendulum devices, signal lights, scanning devices such as ultrasonic and radar scanners, and dispersing devices such as ordnance dispersing.

    摘要: A system for varying the vibration generating force of a rotating eccentric weight by providing a second weight movable from a position on one side of the axis of rotation of the eccentric weight to a second position on the opposite side of the axis of rotation, the movement being linear and radially across said axis of rotation. In addition, a spring may be employed to move the movable weight toward the second position initially, in compression, and later to resist additional movement in said direction, in tension, so as to provide basically a linear system for varying the vibrational force. Fluid pressure may be applied to the movable weight which pressure will combine with the tension in the spring to move the movable weight against centrifugal force and toward the axis of rotation of the wheel. Once the center of gravity of the weight passes the axis of rotation, further fluid pressure on the movable weight will act against the compression of the spring and will combine with the centrifugal force to move the movable weight radially outward from the axis of rotation.

    摘要: An orbiting mass oscillator for generating vibratory energy has an unbalanced rotor which is rotatably driven around the wall of a housing. Oil is fed to the housing with a longitudinal flow therein to provide a thick oil film between the rotor and the housing wall, thereby providing cushioning therebetween which dampens the effects of sharp jolting forces on the oscillator in situations such as where the oscillator is used to drive a drill or cutter against hard material or drives a transducer which is coupled to liquids. This damping or cushioning effect tends to prevent hard metal-to-metal contact between the rotor and the housing which would cause damage to these components. The oil film is efficiently driven ahead of the moving bearing surface by means of an inwardly curved leading edge on the rotor. This turned-in leading edge facilitates the movement of the rotor up on to the oil film which then separates the rotor from the housing and forms an effective cushion or dampener therebetween.
