Abstract:
A compressor in a turbocharger has a compressor impeller in an inflow passage and an outflow region downstream of the compressor-impeller outlet edge. The outflow region is assigned a connecting passage, a stabilizing chamber and an outflow passage, the connecting passage being arranged with a lateral offset with respect to a longitudinal center axis of the stabilizing chamber.
Abstract:
This invention is characterized by a very compact blower assembly architecture designed to operate at low Reynolds numbers. The assembly includes an impeller with forward-curved blades and a hub that is shaped to minimize the overall package volume of the assembly. The impeller is driven by a low-power, brushed, direct-current motor. A shroud part includes a generally cylindrical inlet that directs the air into the impeller, and a surface that forces the air leaving the impeller to turn from a generally radial and tangential direction to a generally axial and tangential direction. The shroud part directs the air into a single stage of stator blades that reduces the tangential component of the air velocity and produces a static pressure rise.
Abstract:
A gas compression apparatus and method according to which an impeller rotates to flow fluid through a casing, and a plurality of vanes are mounted on a plate in the casing. A series of cells are formed in the plate to form an array of acoustic resonators to attenuate acoustic energy generated by the impeller.
Abstract:
An air flow guide device for mounting on a heat dispensing fan includes a U-shaped frame and each of the three sides of the frame has a curve outer surface. A plate is connected between two distal ends of the frame and extends inclinedly from a top edge of the two distal ends of the frame, and a slot is defined between the two distal ends of the frame and the plate. Air flow smoothly flows over the curve smooth surfaces and is sucked by the fan. The plate prevents the exhausted air from being sucked by the fan.
Abstract:
A vacuum cleaner includes a driven impeller that moves working air for the vacuum cleaner. A first housing includes a first wall and a second housing includes a second wall opposite the first wall, and an outlet for the working air. The impeller rotates and draws the working air through an opening and directs the working air radially outwardly toward the first wall and then through an annular passage formed between the first wall and the second wall. The annular passage restricts the flow of working air to provide back pressure on the impeller.
Abstract:
At a vaned diffuser or a volute casing of a centrifugal fluid machine, pressure pulsation and vibrating forces acting upon the diffuser or the volute casing are mitigated or cancelled so as to abate the noise from the centrifugal fluid machine. The fluid machine having an impeller 3 rotating about a rotating shaft 2 within a casing 1 and having a vaned diffuser 4 or volute 12 fixed to the casing 1 is constructed such that radius of the vane trailing edge of the impeller 3 and radius of the vane leading edge of the diffuser 4 or radius of the volute tongue is varied in the direction of axis of rotation and inclinations, on a meridional plane, of the vane trailing edge of the impeller 3 and the vane leading edge of the diffuser 4 or the volute tongue are set in the same orientation, thereby reduction in head and efficiency or occurrence of an axial thrust may be restrained to the extent possible to optimally abate the noise and pressure pulsation of the centrifugal fluid machine.
Abstract:
By changing a vane height to produce different vanes from master vanes, different impellers are produced, and therefore there can be obtained an inexpensive and high-reliability multistage centrifugal compressor and an impellers therefor. An impeller for multistage centrifugal compressor, which is to be mounted on a rotary shaft, comprises a plurality of vanes disposed between a disk and a shroud and separated from one another equiangularly. By changing the vanes of the impeller only in height without changing the configuration, vanes can be obtained, and then a different impeller comprising the disk, a shroud and vanes is also obtained. Since a whole of the vane has a configuration identical to a part of the vane, these vane can be produced by a single pair of the pressing dies.
Abstract:
A centrifugal pump having an axial inlet and an inflow guide device mounted upstream of the impeller, which guide device is composed of several fixed guide vanes, which on the side facing the impeller each have an edge pointing in or opposite to the direction of rotation of the impeller. The edge pointing in or opposite to the direction of rotation may take the form of a swirl blade (8) which is formed on the guide vane (6) and located in the vicinity of the wall of the inlet (2), and which has a shorter radial length than the guide vane (6). This increases the efficiency of the pump and achieves an effect which increases the breadth of applicability of the pump.
Abstract:
A die cast compressor housing includes an outer shell having a partial outer circumferencial volute wall portion and a projection surrounding the circumference of an aperture in the shell that mates with an insert having a first portion with a substantially cylindrical outer wall that is received in the aperture in the outer shell and includes an air inlet. The insert has a second portion extending radially outwardly and including a mating projection for engagement with the outer shell projection to form an inner circumferencial volute wall portion. A backplate has a third projection adjacent its outer circumference that is received in a relief in the outer shell and completes the outer circumferncial volute wall portion. The outer shell projection has a first land engaging a second land on the mating projection, the first and second lands spirally descending relative to a datum and the relief has a third land in spaced relation to a fourth land on the third projection, the third and fourth lands spirally descending respectively relative to the datum.
Abstract:
A small cooling fan includes a rotating fan body with a vane in a flat fan housing, and an air channel for backflow prevention. The air channel is provided outside of the vicinity of the tip of the vane of the rotating fan body, extends to an air outlet, and has an inner height larger than that of a fan chamber. This structure can prevent the backflow of the wind at the air outlet and reduce the loss of the static pressure, thereby increasing the airflow quantity in spite of the small size.
