摘要: A multi-charge ignition system including a spark plug control unit (13) adapted to control at least two coil stages so as to successively energise and de-energise said coil stage(s) to provide a current to a spark plug, said two stages comprising a first transformer (T1) including a first primary winding (L1) inductively coupled to a first secondary winding (L2); a second transformer (T2) including a second primary winding (L3) inductively coupled to a second secondary winding (L4); a first switch Q1 electrically connected between the low side of the first primary winding L1 and the low side/earth, a second switch Q2 having a connection to the low side of the second primary winding L3; and including a first diode D1 electrically connected between the low side of said first secondary winding L3 and ground, and a second diode D2 connected to a point between the low side of said second secondary winding L4 and ground and, including means to measure the voltage at a first connection point (203a) between the first switch and the low side of L1 and/or the voltage at a second connection (203b) point between the second switch and the low side of L3; and means to control the operation of the system dependent upon said measured voltages.

摘要: Ignitability of a fuel by a spark plug is improved while an increase in the number of ignition coils is suppressed. A control device for an internal combustion engine includes an ignition control unit 83 which controls energization of an ignition coil 300a and an ignition coil 300b which each provide electric energy to a spark plug which discharges in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine to ignite a fuel, and a discharge amount detection unit which detects an inter-electrode voltage of the spark plug. After the ignition control unit 83 discharges the spark plug using the electric energy of the ignition coil 300a, the ignition control unit estimates a voltage which is supply-able from the ignition coil 300a to the spark plug, and controls energization of the ignition coil so as to supply the electric energy of the second ignition coil 300b to the spark plug when a difference d between the estimated supply-able voltage and a required voltage based on the voltage detected by the discharge amount detection unit is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold value.

摘要: An ignition device for an internal combustion engine includes an ignition coil, a first switch, a secondary current adjuster, and controller The ignition coil includes a primary coil, a core, and a secondary coil. The first switch switches an energized state of the primary coil between an ON state and an OFF state. The secondary current adjuster adjusts a current value of a secondary current flowing through the secondary coil. The controller controls the secondary current adjuster so that a current value of the secondary current in at least a part of a charging period of the ignition plug, which is a period from when the energized state of the primary coil is switched from the ON state to the OFF state by the first switch to when dielectric breakdown occurs in the ignition plug, becomes smaller than a peak value of the secondary current after the dielectric breakdown occurs.

摘要: Even when detecting the primary voltage of the primary coil side, without detecting the secondary voltage of the secondary coil side of high voltage, it is desired to provide a discharge state detecting apparatus of an internal combustion engine which can detect a spark discharge state with good accuracy, by reducing influences of the discharge current and the resistance component of the discharge path of the secondary coil side, which are generated in the primary voltage. A discharge state detecting apparatus of an internal combustion engine performs correction which reduces a signal component generated by the secondary current in the ignition coil from the primary voltage detected by the primary voltage detector, based on the detected secondary current, and outputs a primary voltage after correction; and determines a spark discharge state based on the primary voltage after correction.

摘要: An ignition control apparatus applied to an internal combustion engine including a spark plug includes an in-cylinder pressure acquisition section, a frequency signal transmitting section which transmits a frequency signal having a predetermined frequency to a switching element, and a weak discharge generating section which causes the frequency signal to be transmitted during an intake stroke and controls the frequency signal such that a weak discharge is generated at the spark plug a plurality of times. The weak discharge generating section controls the frequency signal so as to cause a duty ratio of the switching element to be changed in accordance with the in-cylinder pressure, such that the frequency of generating weak discharges during a time period in which the frequency signal is transmitted becomes higher than a predetermined frequency.
